There will be a Communal Penance service at 6:30PM on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at St. Malachi Church. This is a cluster-wide event which includes our partner parishes St. Patrick and St. Wendelin. If you have not taken advantage of the sacrament of Reconciliation this Lent, we encourage you to attend this service.
Taize Prayer, 3/9/2016
Please join us for Taize Prayer on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at 7:00PM in the Church. Taize prayer uses repetitive, prayerful chanting for a meditative experience. If you have not experienced Taize prayer, consider taking advantage of this opportunity during Lent.
Annual Bishop’s Brunch for Seminarians, 03/13/2016
As a concrete way to offer support for our St. Malachi seminarian, Bobby Johansen and all our diocesan seminarians, St. Malachi is sponsoring a table at the annual Bishop’s seminary brunch on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Landerhaven. It raises funds to meet personal needs of our seminarians and provide improvements to their seminary formation.

There will be time to pray, learn about how others are working in their ministry, reflect about our gifts, collaborate, and eat lunch family style. At Soup for the Soul on Thursday, March 3, 2016, over twenty of Cleveland’s favorite chefs will share their most delicious soups to benefit St. Malachi Center’s programming for families and children. The event will be held at Renaissance Cleveland, 14 Public Square from 6:00-10:00PM. Exploring Pope Francis’ Encyclical, “On Care of Our Common Home” is our evening speaker series with presentations/reflections at 7:00 PM in the hall on Wednesdays March 2, 2016 and April 6, 2016. On March 2, Fr. Tony Schuerger, St. Malachi Parish pastor & Diaconate Formation Director will present and help us reflect Chapters 3 and 4.

Refugee Mentor Meeting 02/27/2016
In this Year of Mercy St. Malachi is interested in sponsoring a refugee family through Catholic Charities Migration & Refugee Services (MRS). If you are interested in becoming a refugee mentor, plan to attend a refugee mentorship information session on Saturday, February 27, 2016 from 10:00 AM to 1:00PM at St Augustine Towers (7800 Detroit Ave.). Lunch is provided.
MRS resettles 350 refugees in the Cleveland area from Bhutan, Burma, Iraq, Democratic Republic of Congo and many other countries. Attend this informational session to learn more about refugees, mentoring and learn how you can help a family resettle here in the United States.

Evening of Confession 02/24/2016
As a special part of this Jubilee Year of Mercy, St. Malachi and every parish in the diocese will be holding an Evening of Confession on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 from 5:00-8:00 PM. Fr. Tony, Fr. Neil Walters and Fr. Jim O’Donnell will all be available during this time for individual confessions. During this time, a simple soup supper will be available in the hall.
