Live as Missionary Disciples!
“All the baptized, whatever their position in the Church or their level of instruction in the faith, are agents of evangelization, and it would be insufficient to envision a plan of evangelization to be carried out by professionals while the rest of the faithful would be simply passive recipients.” –from the new Directory of Catechesis (DFC) #288. This paragraph, from the 2020 DFC, reminds us of our basic call by Jesus to live as missionary disciples within the realities of our daily lives. Plan to join in person at St Pat’s on four Wednesdays in Lent—Mass at 5:30 PM and talk at 6:00 PM—or via livestream as we enter Lenten practice by turning and responding ever more deeply to Jesus’ summons. More details will follow as we approach Ash Wednesday on February 17th.

JANUARY 2021 IS HUMAN TRAFFICKING AWARENESS MONTH 1.28.2021 6:30pm
Join us on January 28, 2021 6:30-7PM for a Livestream Human Trafficking Town Hall Meeting, hosted by Monica Robbins, WKYC-TV Senior Health Correspondent. https://www.facebook.com/WKYC.Channel 3. Human trafficking is today’s practice of slavery. It is involuntary servitude and it is happening today around the world, across the United States, and in Ohio. Those subjected to the crime are exploited through forced labor and commercial sex for another’s financial gain. Victims include children and adults, men and women, and U.S. citizens as well as foreign born individuals.
The Collaborative to End Human Trafficking supports the fundamental human right to freedom by educating and advocating for the prevention and abolition of human trafficking while connecting services on behalf of trafficked persons. The operative word in our name is “Collaborative”—we recognize that only in partnership with others can we ever hope to end human trafficking. It is a key time for us all as individuals to educate ourselves about human trafficking & crucially to learn to spot the signs of trafficking. It is also a time for us take these messages to our workplaces, our churches, our schools, our representatives and everywhere else.
