June 20-21, 2015
Next weekend is our monthly Can-Do collection of non-perishable foods to support the West Side Ecumenical Ministry (WSEM) Food Pantries. Hunger does not go on vacation during the summer; however, food donations to food pantries usually decline during the summer months.
Your donation of canned goods or other non-perishable food items can make a difference!

Second Saturday Supper, 6/13/2015

namaste-indian-garden-lakewoodThe Second Saturday Supper will be at Namaste, the newest India Garden restaurant in Lakewood.  The restaurant is at 14412 Detroit Rd.  Please meet at 5:45 pm, immediately after the 4:30PM Mass,  on June 13, 2015. All of St. Malachi parishioners and friends are very welcome to join in this gathering. Questions: call Chris Dusek at 216-631-6961.

If you are not familiar with Indian food, come and the staff will explain the menu and direct you to something that is pleasing to your palate.  This restaurant features cuisine from Southern India.

 

Parish Retreat 7/31/2015 – 8/2/2015

To celebrate our 150th Anniversary, Lifelong Faith Formation and Education Commission is sponsoring a Parish Retreat on July 31- August 2, 2015 at the beautiful St. Leonard Retreat House in Avon. You can see pictures of our closing Mass from last summer on the St. Malachi website. Many hands will be needed. Plan to participate, grow, and enjoy!

Saturdays and Sunday, May 9-16, 2015
You are invited to participate in Every Mother Counts, our  Mother’s Day Project to benefit the Metro Health Friends of Mothers and Infants, a volunteer organization dedicated to helping under served mothers and infants in our community.
Select a tag from the high chair display at the front of church. Purchase one or more of the gifts written on the tag and bring the gift to church Saturday/Sunday,May 9-10 or 16-17, 2015. All are encouraged to participate.

Pentecost Fest! is Wednesday, May 20, 2015  in the hall. Please join us at 6:00PM for a Pot Luck Dinner. Bring an appetizer, side, main dish or desert according to the first letter of your last name: A-G, Appetizers/side dishes; H-N, Main dishes; O-Z, Desserts.
After dinner12 people of St. Malachi will share their faith journey
and  we will all celebrate in song.

Fight for Hope Fundraiser
Analiz Cartagena is a two year old who has recently been diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer.  She is the daughter of Crystal Cartagena, a Caregiver atMalachi House. Malachi House is supporting the family’s Fight for Hope fundraiser for Analiz on Saturday,May 23,2015  4-6:00PM at Westpark Station, 17015 Lorain Avenue.

Admission is $20, which includes food, drink and  raffle. Tickets are available at Malachi House. Call (216) 621-8831
