Next week is the Peter’s Pence Collection to support the Universal Church and the work of the Holy See, including helping Pope Francis carry out his charitable works. These works benefit our brothers and sisters on the margins of society, including victims of war, oppression, and disasters. Please be generous.
This weekend, May 12th, 2024, is the annual appeal for our Diocesan Office of Catechetical Services. The Office support and enhances the catechetical initiative (PSR programs) throughout the Diocese and supports faith formation for all, including adult faith formation, catechetical leader training and catechist formation for teachers of religion, media literacy, and college Newman Campus ministry. Your support is an investment in faith formation and religious education throughout the Diocese of Cleveland.
Our special collection on Good Friday supports the Church in Central and Eastern Europe. Communism in this region fell more than 30 years ago, but the Church still struggles to rebuild after decades of oppressive rule. Under communism, religion and religious practices were openly persecuted, and atheism was actively propagated and enforced. Your support of this collection funds grants that support vital pastoral ministries throughout the region. That means you support seminary programs, promote ministries and education for children and families, rebuild churches, and renew community life. Please join us this Lent as we support Fr. Kevin Conroy’s mission to provide mental health services to his patients in Cambodia. Fr. Conroy, a priest from the Cleveland Diocese and psychologist, has been in Cambodia for over 16 years providing mental health services and restoring human dignity. He and his team are treating approximately 150 severe mentally ill patients at a cost of $530 per patient, per year. Please support his ministry, Caritas Seedling of Hope Community Mental Health, with your Lenten donations, along with your prayers.

Next weekend, January 20/21, is the collection for Catholic University of America which offers graduate and undergraduate courses in more than 250 academic programs. Your investment will enable the University to continue to support the Church and to advance its work of preparing the next generation of leadership, both religious and lay, of our Church and nation.
How lightly Mary held Jesus. She did not clutch Him to her but held Him out for the world to know. She knew that He did not belong to her alone. From the moment of His birth she was called upon to share Him with strangers who flocked to see Him. In the same way, we are also called to hold our blessings lightly, being willing to share what God has given to us with those whom God may lead to us. Let’s give our January 6th Saturday Morning Breakfast guests some goodies on the Feast of the Epiphany. Cookies or wrapped candies can be put in baskets at the side altars on Dec 23,24,25,30, and 31st We’ll package 140 small containers after Mass at Coffee Hour on December 31st, They will distributed at the Jan 6th Saturday Morning Breakfast. Any help is appreciated! Make time to create a special treat for our breakfast guests.

Contributions received after Dec. 31, 2023 or postmarked in 2024 will be recorded as 2024 contributions.
Please share what you can in the way of cookies and individually wrapped candies on the weekends of Christmas (Dec 23, 24, 25) and the New Year (Dec 30, 31, Jan 1).
There will be baskets at the side altars to collect your contributions. Then, after Mass on Jan 1, we will create small containers of ‘goodies’ to give our guests at the Jan 6 Epiphany (Saturday) brunch. We could also use your help in boxing the items on Jan. 1.
