Many opportunities available to help!
Nothing on the St. Malachi campus would be able to survive without the generous donations of time from hundreds of people! See where you may be interested in helping.
Backdoor Ministry
The Back Door Ministry provides either a peanut butter and jelly sandwich or a baloney sandwich, coffee, a donut to anyone that comes to the window between 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM daily except on Sundays or Holidays when the window closes at 1:00 PM. Normally there is other food given out also from donations that are dropped off on a daily basis. 2 volunteers work each shift of 3 ½ hours.
A breakfast is also served each Saturday morning in the hall at 8:30 a.m.
Clothing Ministry
There is a clothing ministry for families on the third Saturday of most months. We endeavor to keep seasonal clothing on hand. There is not sufficient storage to keep the off-season articles so we do ask to keep that in mind. Socks, hats, warm gloves, etc. are always welcome during the winter months.
Generally, casual clothes are in much higher demand than dress clothes. Slacks, jeans, warm sweaters and sweatshirts, t-shirts etc.
Please consider donating one or two items; drop them off at the Rectory, Church Basement or at the Center.
Monday Night Meal
This ministry provides a hot meal on every Monday of the year, regardless of what day it is, Christmas, New Year’s, Labor Day, etc. Volunteer cooks use a standard menu to prepare the meat which is delivered to the kitchen prior to serving and reheated for serving. The additional side dishes are prepared by the cooks in the kitchen. Volunteers will bring vegetables or fruit on a monthly basis. All the work in serving, setup, and cleaning is all performed by volunteers.
A meal is served from approximately 5:45-6:30 p.m. Volunteers are asked to come between 5:00-5:30 p.m. and remain until cleanup is finished, at approximately 7:15 p.m.
St. Malachi Parish welcomes volunteers from the parish and the larger community.
