40 Days for Life
This is an intentional coordinated 40-day campaign that aims to end abortion locally through prayer and fasting, community outreach, and a peaceful all-day vigil in front of abortion businesses. Forty days is a timeline God consistently uses throughout salvation history to transform His people. Abortion is the leading cause of death in the world, with an estimated 40 million innocent lives lost each year. Since the first coordinated 40 Days for Life campaign took place in 2007, over 1000 cities in 63 countries have been reached.
Vibrant Faith Program Coming to St Malachi!
National organization Vibrant Faith Ministries has acquired one million dollars in grant money, which is coming to our Diocese for their Thriving Congregations project. The Office of Catechetical Formation was asked to identify five parishes, which will work with a Coach and a team of volunteers at each parish to assess how faith formation for all ages, lived out in community, transforms every Parish ministry. St Malachi & St Patrick were chosen as a unit. Stephanie Pritts will lead a core team, and many additional volunteers will be involved over the next 3-4 years. We will assess what we do, why we do it, and what is needed to develop vibrant, trans-formative faith. Money is also available at the end of the project to help us pursue what we have determined we need to move forward toward our vision of faith-filled, thriving parishes. Stay tuned for details. More info will be coming!
21 Day Challenge for Racial Equity and Social Justice
Join the Social Action Commission & participate online in the 21 Day Racial Equity & Social Justice Challenge sponsored by the YWCA. This is an exciting opportunity to dive deep into racial equity and social justice. You will be presented with challenges such as reading an article, listening to a podcast, reflecting on personal experience and more. Participation helps us discover how racial injustice and social injustice impact our community and identify ways to dismantle racism and other forms of discrimination. Each day takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. On Sunday November 15th we will meet in the hall during the Sunday Morning Program to share and reflect on the challenge as a group. Find the challenge at https://www. ywcaofcleveland.org/21-day-racial-equity-challenge/
