The Phone Outreach Ministry is a group of volunteers, who as a team, contact all registered parishioners to invite them to an event at the parish at least 4 times per year. The events are selected by the pastor. Volunteers contact by telephone 20 – 30 individuals.
The mission of this team is to maintain regular contact with all parishioners, especially those who are unable to attend Mass at St. Malachi on a regular basis.
Volunteers are needed for this ministry. Skills / talents needed include a friendly, warm presence; good “telephone presence” and speaking voice; the ability to communicate clearly and present accurate information; perseverance, thoroughness and reliability.
The time commitment is about 3-5 hours four times per year. Advance notice of events is provided; calls generally need to be made in a time window of about a week. Records must be maintained regarding calls made and returned to the leader.
