On this night of the Easter Vigil, The Exsultet, the proclamation hymn of Easter, is sung before the Pascal Candle.
It is a proclamation of praise and thanksgiving celebrating the Resurrection of our Lord.
We pray for Easter Blessings for the parishioners of St. Malachi and St. Patrick parishes on this Easter Vigil, 2020.
The Exsultet is sung by cantors Brian Marshall and Victoria McBride.
Prior to COVID-19, the plan for St. Malachi and St. Patrick was for both parishes to celebrate Holy Thursday at St. Malachi, and for both parishes to celebrate the Easter Vigil at St. Patrick. So, here is the celebration:

In light of our inability to attend Triduum Liturgies during these sacred “Three Days,” from sundown Thursday to sundown Sunday, here is a beautiful option. As a gift from The Augustine Institute, this prayerful, 30 minute video takes us to the Holy Land, to the sacred sites where Jesus lived, celebrated Passover, suffered, died, and rose in these three days.
After three years of active ministry, Jesus’ life on earth culminated in these three days, which fulfilled all that the prophets, and indeed all of the Old Testament, had said of Him.
Please take advantage of this opportunity to enter more deeply into the Paschal Mystery, which is the heart of our Christian Faith!

Our elderly shut-ins are especially impacted by the isolation imposed by COVID-19. Can you send one or more cards to let them know that St. Malachi is keeping them in our thoughts and prayers? If so, please send an email to the St. Malachi Pastoral Minister/Parish Catechetical Leader, Stephanie Pritts at Stephanie.P@StMalachi.org. Thank you!

Courtesy of Liturgical Press, please download and print Holy Week at Home, a beautiful resource for celebrating Holy Week at home during this COVID-19 crisis.
This short, 15-page booklet provides adaptations of the Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil, and Easter Sunday Rituals for family and household prayer.
Also, take advantage of other opportunities both at the church and online. See the website for details.

Friends,
During this most sacred time of Holy Week, when we cannot be together, I will be sharing brief videograms with you. Please visit the website frequently, and especially at times when we would otherwise be together during the Easter Triduum, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, the Easter Vigil. And of course, on Easter Sunday.
You remain in my prayers,
Fr. Michael Gurnick,
Administrator, St. Malachi
