CLUSTER VISION STATEMENT
As a Catholic Community of Faith on the near west side of
Cleveland, we are called to worship God, to nurture our faith, and express our
discipleship by the way we serve others.
PRAYER AND WORSHIP
We celebrate our faith through prayer and worship, especially the
Eucharist which is the source and summit of our Catholic Faith.
- To promote the full, conscious, and active participation in the
Eucharist and liturgical celebrations.
- To call forth and support the formation of people to serve in the
various liturgical ministries
- To provide for the sacramental needs of the faith community
- To provide diverse forms of prayer experiences to nourish and sustain
our faith.
FAITH FORMATION
We are called by Baptism to continue to be formed as disciples of Christ
throughout our lives.
- To provide a variety of faith formation experiences for adults, youth,
and children
- To develop educational and spiritual opportunities for adult members
- To support parents as the first and foremost teachers and models in
the faith formation of their children
- To provide opportunities for family participation and
intergenerational faith sharing
- To provide certified and dedicated catechists for sacramental
preparation and educational programs.
- To support Catholic education
MINISTRY
We are empowered and commissioned through Baptism to share our gifts with
our brothers and sisters.
- To empower all parishioners to answer the call of the Gospel to commit
to the work of the Church and the community
- To promote responsible stewardship by calling forth the time, talent
and treasure of all members
- To communicate a welcoming spirit to all
- To promote collaboration among various parishes, organizations and
groups as we minister to others
- To provide appropriate pastoral care for the community we are called
to serve
- To promote and strengthen a sense of belonging and community
COMMUNITY OUTREACH
We are called by the Gospel and commissioned by our Baptism to engage
actively in ministering to the needs of all.
- To reach out to those who are bereaved, elderly, homebound or
hospitalized
- To participate in programs and projects that promote justice, peace,
solidarity and address other areas of human need
- To promote social awareness and education on social issues facing the
wider community
- To commemorate and celebrate the unique history and gifts of the
legacy parishes in the life of the community
- To collaborate with other churches and organizations to serve the
community
ECUMENICAL AND INTERELIGIOUS RELATIONS
We believe that God works in many and varied ways in human existence and
so we recognize and respect the diverse religious traditions found in our
community.
- To continue ecumenical relationships with our interfaith neighbors and
churches
- To share prayer and ministry with those of other religious traditions
EVANGELIZATION
We are called and commissioned to “proclaim the Gospel message” to all
people
- To invite and encourage inactive and occasionally attending Catholics
to return to regular attendance and full participation in prayer and
worship
- To welcome and invite persons who are unchurched to share the Good
News
- To welcome new residents to our area
- To call forth the participation of the entire faith community in the
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)
