CLUSTER VISION STATEMENT

As a Catholic Community of Faith on the near west side of Cleveland, we are called to worship God, to nurture our faith, and express our discipleship by the way we serve others.

PRAYER AND WORSHIP

We celebrate our faith through prayer and worship, especially the Eucharist which is the source and summit of our Catholic Faith.

  • To promote the full, conscious, and active participation in the Eucharist and liturgical celebrations.
  • To call forth and support the formation of people to serve in the various liturgical ministries
  • To provide for the sacramental needs of the faith community
  • To provide diverse forms of prayer experiences to nourish and sustain our faith.

FAITH FORMATION

We are called by Baptism to continue to be formed as disciples of Christ throughout our lives.

  • To provide a variety of faith formation experiences for adults, youth, and children
  • To develop educational and spiritual opportunities for adult members
  • To support parents as the first and foremost teachers and models in the faith formation of their children
  • To provide opportunities for family participation and intergenerational faith sharing
  • To provide certified and dedicated catechists for sacramental preparation and educational programs.
  • To support Catholic education

MINISTRY

We are empowered and commissioned through Baptism to share our gifts with our brothers and sisters.

  • To empower all parishioners to answer the call of the Gospel to commit to the work of the Church and the community
  • To promote responsible stewardship by calling forth the time, talent and treasure of all members
  • To communicate a welcoming spirit to all
  • To promote collaboration among various parishes, organizations and groups as we minister to others
  • To provide appropriate pastoral care for the community we are called to serve
  • To promote and strengthen a sense of belonging and community

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

We are called by the Gospel and commissioned by our Baptism to engage actively in ministering to the needs of all.

  • To reach out to those who are bereaved, elderly, homebound or hospitalized
  • To participate in programs and projects that promote justice, peace, solidarity and address other areas of human need
  • To promote social awareness and education on social issues facing the wider community
  • To commemorate and celebrate the unique history and gifts of the legacy parishes in the life of the community
  • To collaborate with other churches and organizations to serve the community

ECUMENICAL AND INTERELIGIOUS RELATIONS

We believe that God works in many and varied ways in human existence and so we recognize and respect the diverse religious traditions found in our community.

  • To continue ecumenical relationships with our interfaith neighbors and churches
  • To share prayer and ministry with those of other religious traditions

EVANGELIZATION

We are called and commissioned to “proclaim the Gospel message” to all people

  • To invite and encourage inactive and occasionally attending Catholics to return to regular attendance and full participation in prayer and worship
  • To welcome and invite persons who are unchurched to share the Good News
  • To welcome new residents to our area
  • To call forth the participation of the entire faith community in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)
