2008 CATHOLIC CHARITIES ANNUAL APPEAL
This weekend is the in-pew commitment weekend for the annual Catholic Charities
appeal. Each household is being asked to consider making a pledge to support the ministries and services provided by
Catholic
Charities. This is not a “special collection.” Each of us is encouraged to consider a pledge of support that will be billed over several months.
Many people have already received the Catholic Charities appeal in the mail. If you have, please respond and check off the box on the envelope that you receive in church to indicate that you have already responded by mail.
The theme of this year's Appeal is “Listen to Him.” Each of us is invited to listen to what Christ has taught us about helping those in need. Let us reflect on the gifts God has given to each of us…“all that we are and all that we have.” Based upon these reflections, determine how much you will return in gratitude for the gifts you have received.
Please pray for the success of this important Appeal and the work of Catholic
Charities.

Then Peter said to Jesus in reply, "Lord, it is good that we are here.
If you wish, I will make three tents here, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah." While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud cast a shadow over them, then from the cloud came a voice that said,
"This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him." - Mt 17:4-5
