FAITH AND VALUES APPEAL FOR EDUCATION
The annual Faith and Values Appeal for Education will be conducted next weekend. Funds raised are used for tuition support for needy students throughout the Diocese. Over the past five years, the
Faith and Values Appeal for Education has raised more than $1.1 million and given out as tuition assistance to families throughout the eight counties of the Diocese, including children at
Urban Community
School.

BAPTISM OF THE LORD -- ORDINARY TIME
The Feast of the Baptism of the Lord is the final feast of the Christmas season and marks the beginning of Ordinary Time, with the First Week of Ordinary Time beginning on Monday. The Church is using the A Cycle of Sunday readings & the Year 2 Cycle of weekday readings.
A CALL TO PLAN FOR LENT!
The period of Ordinary Time before Lent is very short this year; February 6 is Ash Wednesday! There is a VERY important meeting this Tuesday at 7 PM to plan for the season of Lent at St. Malachi. Whatever your interest may be -- liturgy, social action, spiritual growth, almsgiving -- your input is important! Please come!
CHURCH DECORATING -- YOUR HELP IS NEEDED
This Sunday your help and service is needed as we un-decorate the church after the 12:30 PM Mass.

5TH ANNIVERSARY- PRAYER WALK FOR PEACE

Soup for the Soul
Please join us at our annual
Soup for the Soul fundraiser on Thursday March 13, 2008 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on St. Clair in downtown Cleveland. Our goal is to raise $60,000 this year to help us help others. This year promises to be the best ever, with 20+ restaurants donating their favorite and most scrumptious soups. Also featured: appealing appetizers, sensational celebrity servers, amazing auctions, rousing raffles -- and YOU!

END HUMAN TRAFFICKING: SPECIAL PROGRAM
The Collaborative Initiative to End Human Trafficking will
present a free program featuring author Theresa Flores on
Thursday, January 24, 6:30-8:00 pm, at Don Umerley Civic
Center, Memorial Hall 21016 Hilliard Blvd. Rocky River.
Theresa Flores is the author of The Sacred Bath, her account
of being trafficked as a 15 year-old high school student
while living in an upper-middle class suburb of Detroit,
Michigan. She now works as a social worker and shares her
story when and where she can to help others understand that
human trafficking exists in our own communities. Resources
will be available to help participants identify the signs of
trafficking and appropriate ways to respond. This program is
a must for parents, teachers, school counselors, students,
social workers, social service and health providers. For

The Sisters of Norte Dame have a Prayer Line Ministry. They dedicate time each day to receive calls and pray for your intentions. The Sisters will receive your calls from 10 AM-4 PM on Monday-Friday.
