MISSION SUNDAY APPEAL NEXT WEEKEND
Next weekend is the annual Mission Appeal to support the work of the
Society for the Propagation of the
Faith, supporting the missionary work of the Church throughout the world. The
Mission Sunday appeal is the principal collection benefiting the almost 1200 Missionary Dioceses of the world. There will be a second collection at all the Masses.

CHRISTIAN FOUNDATION FOR CHILDREN AND AGING
St. Malachi welcomes Fr. William Martin, who will preach at all the Masses this weekend about the work of the
Christian Foundation for Children and
Aging, which offers the opportunity to sponsor a needy child or aged adult in 25 countries in the developing world. There is no special collection;
sponsorship information will be available.
BETHLEHEM CHRISTIAN FAMILIES
This weekend, St. Malachi also welcomes a representative of the
Bethlehem Christian Families offering hand-carved olive wood products for sale after all the Masses. Items include crucifixes, rosaries, Nativity scenes, Christmas ornaments, figurines. Income from sales will help support the
Christian Wood Carvers of

BLANKET SUNDAY COLLECTION
This weekend is the annual St. Vincent de Paul “Blanket Sunday Collection.” We are collecting new or like-new blankets, sheets & towels -- most of which will be distributed to people in our area, as St. Malachi is a distribution site. If you wish to make a cash contribution ($5 can buy a blanket at wholesale prices!), please find envelopes at the doors of the church. All donations will be sent to the “Blanket Sunday” program of the
St. Vincent de Paul

ANNUAL MASS OF REMEMBRANCE
The annual Mass of Remembrance for those who have been buried from St. Malachi during the past year will be Sunday, November 11 at 12:30 PM

Being the People of God is a speaker series about ministry and answering the Baptismal call. The next presentation will be on Tuesday, October 23,
“To Whom Shall We Go Today to be Nourished and Strengthened for the Mission Entrusted to Us as Baptized Adults?” by Conrad
Gramada, Ph.D. of Ursuline
College. The evening starts at 7 PM in St. Malachi Hall. On the Sunday, October 28, there will be discussion at Coffee Hour after 9:30AM & 11:00AM Mass about the information we receive, how it applies to us, and what we can do. Sr. Elizabeth Johnson CSJ, Distinguished Professor of Theology at Fordham University, will address “Questing for the Living God” at the 17th Annual FutureChurch Benefit on Thursday, October 18, at Windows on the River. Beth is a well known and personable speaker and theologian from Fordham
University. She is the recipient of several awards, ten honorary doctorates
and is a past president of the Catholic Theological Society of America. In
1992, she published She Who Is, a ground breaking book about the Mystery of
God in feminine metaphor.
On October 18 she will speak on most recent work: The Quest for the Living
God: Mapping Frontiers in the Theology of God.

Sisters of Notre Dame Prayer Line
The Sisters of Norte Dame have a Prayer Line Ministry. They dedicate time each day to receive calls and pray for your intentions. The Sisters will receive your calls from 10 AM-4 PM on Monday-Friday. During weekends and holidays you may leave your requests on their answering service. These requests will also be remembered in prayer. The sisters in Assisted Living look forward to praying for your needs and requests.
