COLLECTION FOR THE CHURCHES OF EASTERN EUROPE
Next weekend is the annual appeal at all the Masses for the support of the Churches in Eastern Europe. Once again this year, we have been blessed with a reminder of our bond with Eastern Europe through the presence of Martin Chovanec and Dalibor Ondrej, “our” Slovak seminarians. This annual appeal helps the churches of Eastern Europe strengthen their ministry and pastoral care of our brothers and sisters.
Thank you for supporting this appeal.

My dear parishioners of Saint Malachi Church
My time here at Saint Malachi Church is coming to an End. I have spent several Months living at Saint Malachi Church as part of my pastoral experience required by the seminary program in Roznava. I would now like to take this time to express my deep appreciation for all the love, kindness and concern all of you have shown me during my stay here.
I am truly grateful to all of you for making my stay here very enriching and worthwhile. I ask you to pray for me as I continue my journey and studies for the priesthood, and I will always remember all of you in my daily prayers and thoughts.
May God Bless you always!
Seminarian Martin Chovanec

FR. JIM O'DONNELL
This past Wednesday, Fr. Jim O'Donnell had successful knee-replacement surgery on his right knee. As he recovers from surgery, he expects to go to rehabilitation and then have several more weeks of recovery. He hopes to be able to come back to St. Malachi within a few months. Although Fr. Jim has not asked, it may be best for his recovery if people did not try to visit him, especially in the early days of his recovery. Let us keep him in our prayers!

WEDNESDAY WEEKLY PRAYERS
Stating in June, there will be a special prayer session each Wednesday evening in church at 5:30 pm, with a different prayer for each week of the month. We hope you find one that speaks to you.
• First week of each month: The Presence of God.
This prayer is based on Sacred Space, the Prayer Book 2007, which is based on
www.sacredspace.ie. It is prayer and meditation with Scripture in the tradition of Ignatian Spirituality.
• The second week of each month: Taizé Prayer.
Taizé Prayer is a quiet, simple way of prayer designed for people of all Christian traditions. These meditative, candlelit services include simple chants sung repeatedly, rich silence and prayers of praise and intercession.
• The third week of each month: Bridges to
Contemplation. Bridges uses Thomas Merton's writings as a starting point of discussion with another contemporary writer. The group is given time for silence and contemplation to identify what the writings mean to them.
• The fourth week of the month: The Labyrinth.
Walking the Labyrinth gives us the chance to meditate on a specific prayer or thought of our choosing or as suggested by a prayer leader.
There will be a prayer leader each week. Contact Jackie Bluett at (440) 590-0394 or
jackierose@aol.com.
ADOPT A GARDEN PLOT
Adopt a Garden Plot at the corner of East 35th and Cedar. Father Jim O'Donnell and Sister Maggie are seeking volunteers to plant flowers and vegetables at the community garden on East 35th Street. If interested, please contact Bob or Arlene Corrigan at (440) 895-9982.
