EASTER AND ITS OCTAVE
Alleluia! Christ is risen! The Church celebrates the Feast of Easter this entire week -- from the Easter Vigil through next Sunday (“Divine Mercy” Sunday). Each day is named “Easter” (Easter Monday, Easter Tuesday, etc.) for so it is. Each day's Gospel recounts an appearance of the risen Jesus to his disciples; the First Reading from the Acts of the Apostles describes the preaching of the early Christian community proclaiming the risen Lord & the deeds of these first followers of Jesus, who continue the ministry of Jesus.
