RETIREMENT FUND FOR RELIGIOUS APPEAL
Today is the annual appeal for the Retirement Fund for Religious. This fund supports religious women and men from communities who have served God's people in ministry, are now retired, and whose communities lack the funds they need to provide for them in their retirement. There will be a second collection at all the Masses

Today, December 10, we are delivering fruit baskets to the elderly in the Lakeview & Riverview Hi rises starting at noon. To help please meet at the St. Malachi Center.

COMMUNAL PENANCE SERVICE TODAY
There is a Communal Penance Service today, Sunday, at 2 PM at St. Wendelin Church, Columbus. The Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) is also celebrated at St. Malachi Church every Saturday from 3-4:00 p.m. and on Sunday mornings from 8:45-9:00 a.m.

CHRISTIAN FORMATION ADVENT CELEBRATION 
Christian Formation has a Family Advent Celebration, this Sunday, December 10, from 7-9 p.m., at Lakewood Park Women's Pavilion (Lake Rd.) Come for an evening of prayer, song, & community. All are welcome. VIBRANT PARISH LIFE UPDATE ON CLUSTERING
Bishop Richard Lennon has notified us that he needs more time “to reflect on the recommendations from the parishes and the various committees that have reviewed these recommendations. Thus, I write ...to inform you that I will be communicating with all the parishes regarding their cluster assignments early in February 2007.”

2007 COLLECTION ENVELOPES
Please pick up a box for your 2007 collection envelopes at the doors of the church. As you begin using the envelopes in the new year, please write your name & address on the envelopes so that we may record your contributions. 

ST. MALACHI CENTER CHRISTMAS BOUTIQUE
The St. Malachi Center needs new or “like new” gift items for mothers, fathers, teens, children & toddlers for the annual Christmas Boutique on Monday, December 18. The children “shop” at no cost. LAS POSADAS
Las Posadas Many years ago, St. Malachi Center adapted the Mexican Christmas tradition of Las Posadas, the remembrance of the Holy Family's search for a room at an inn. The celebration includes active involvement in procession, prayer, song, and meal by St. Malachi volunteers and Center participants. The festivity takes place on the St. Malachi grounds. After the procession there is a light meal. This year the event is Saturday, December 16 from 5 to 8 pm. There is a sign up sheet at the 9:30 and 11:00 coffee hours or please call St. Malachi Center, (216) 771-3036. Please join the us and sign up to participate.

CHRISTMAS DINNER
St. Augustine Church, 2486 West 14th St, is serving a delicious dinner on Christmas day from 11 AM--1 PM. If you are homebound & unable to attend, call (216) 781-5880 between 9 AM - 6 PM and arrangements will be made to deliver a meal to your door.

SISTERS OF NORTE DAME PRAYER LINE
The Sisters of Norte Dame have a Prayer Line Ministry. They dedicate time each day to receive calls and pray for your intentions. The Sisters will receive your calls from 10 AM-4 PM on Monday-Friday. During weekends and holidays you may leave your requests on their answering service. These requests will also be remembered in prayer. The sisters in Assisted Living look forward to praying for you needs and requests.

SVDP CAR DONATION PROGRAM
With poverty in Northeast Ohio at an all time high level, now more than ever the St. Vincent de Paul Society needs your help to keep its community-wide programs going. The SVDP provides free food, clothing, furniture, and blankets to the needy throughout the Diocese of Cleveland. However, without your car donations, these programs would not be possible. You can call 216-741-SVDP to donate your later model car, truck, SUV, or boat. The process is quick and easy, with free towing and a tax deduction for donating.

THE SPLENDOR OF CHRIST
On Wednesday December 27, the Feast of St. John the Evangelist The Diocesan Patron, Solemn Vespers will be sung at 7 PM amidst the splendor of Christmas at St. John Cathedral. Bishop Richard Lennon will be the presider and preacher. All are welcome, especially the young and those preparing for initiation! Following vespers there will be a brief tour of the Cathedral church and a social with light refreshments. Come and celebrate this Feast of our Patron in the beauty of the Christmas Season at
