CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY APPEAL 
This weekend is the annual collection for The Catholic University of America. Among the Catholic University graduates of our diocese are Fr. Paul Hritz & Fr. Mark DiNardo of St. Patrick. Jan Dolny, the seminarian from Slovakia who was with us in 2004 is currently studying theology at Catholic University. There is a second collection at all the Masses.

PRAYING WITH ST IGNATIUS OF LOYOLA” RETREAT
“Is God calling you to closer a relationship?“ Praying with St. Ignatius of Loyola” is a retreat adapted from The Spiritual Exercises to foster a heartfelt knowledge of Jesus. Fr. Clem Metzger SJ, of the Jesuit Retreat House will guide you through different methods of prayer, meditation, journaling & small group sharing. You are asked to commit 30 minutes a day to private prayer. There is a weekly group meeting on Sunday: Sept. 17, 24; Oct. 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, Nov. 5, 12 from 7-8:30 pm in St. Malachi hall. 
Registrations are available at the doors of the church. Please register by Tuesday, Sept. 12. Cost is $50. If needed, there is a scholarship available; call Fr. Tony, (216) 861-5343. Thank you to those who helped with hospitality, set up, & clean up at the Thomas Merton evening with Fr. Steve Krupa. Thank you, too, to all who attended. The Spiritual Development Committee is planning many more spiritual development activities… at least one per month. Watch the Bulletin, Newsletter, Communio, & the church bulletin boards for notices. The Spiritual Development Committee is arranging to have a Labyrinth evening very soon.

CHRISTIAN FAITH IN OUR EVOLVING WORLD”
Diarmuid O'Murchu, MSC is speaking on “Christian Faith in Our Evolving World”at River's Edge the weekend of September 29 (7-9 pm), 30 (9 am-4 pm), October 1 (9 am-- noon). PRAYER WALK FOR PEACE THIS WEEK
To mark the anniversary of 9/11, there will be a “Prayer Walk for Peace” Wednesday, Sept. 13, with participants gathering in St. Malachi parking lot at 7:15 p.m. for prayerful walk to Public Square and further prayer there. Information: Mary Masterson, (216) 671-4938 

HALFWAY TO ST. PATRICK DAY PARTY
St. Patrick Church (Bridge Ave.) annual “Halfway to St. Patrick Day” party is next Sunday, September 17, in the Social Hall, from 3 PM-8 PM. SISTERS OF NORTE DAME PRAYER LINE
The Sisters of Norte Dame have a Prayer Line Ministry. They dedicate time each day to receive calls and pray for your intentions. The Sisters will receive your calls from 10 AM-4 PM on Monday-Friday. During weekends and holidays you may leave your requests on their answering service. These requests will also be remembered in prayer. The sisters in Assisted Living look forward to praying for you needs and requests.

    Community support group for women. Helps build new social networks and increase self-esteem.

  • After School Program
    Eighty children in kindergarten through eighth grades enjoy a variety of activities. A light snack and homework help are provided.
    Mon.-Fri. 2:30-6:30 pm

  • Seeds of Literacy
    An adult literacy program helping participants reach educational goals through improving basic skills. GED preparation offered. Childcare is available. 
    Mon. & Wed. 6:00-7:30 pm

  • Homework Help for Teens
    College students and other young adults tutor high school students to better prepare them for graduation.
    Mon. 6:00-8:00 pm

  • Sewing with Friends
    An adult sewing class that teaches the basics of sewing.
    Tues. 10:00-12:00 pm

  • Your Next Step
    Teens and young adults explore their likes and dislikes. They learn how to enter a career based on their findings. 
    Tues. 6:00-8:00 pm

  • Praying with Scripture
    A group of women share their faith and prayer experience with scripture.
    Wed. 10:00-11:30 am
