The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
This Tuesday is the Feast of the Assumption of Mary into heaven. Catholics believe when Mary died, she was taken directly up into heaven, body and soul. The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches "The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin is a singular participation in her Son's Resurrection and an anticipation of the resurrection of other Christians."
The Feast of the Assumption is a Holy Day this year; there is an obligation to attend
Mass.
Vigil Mass Monday 7 PM
Holy Day Masses Tuesday 7 AM & 12 Noon.
St. Patrick (Bridge) also has Mass at 5:30 PM on both Monday & Tuesday. Note: there is no Noon Mass on Monday at St. Malachi. |
