COLLECTION FOR CHURCH IN EASTERN EUROPE
The Second Collection next Sunday is for the annual Peter's Pence Collection in support of the works of the Holy Father in parishes across the country. The proceeds from this collection fund emergency-relief assistance to those throughout the world who suffer from war, oppression, and natural disasters. As we participate in this special appeal, we join with more than 1 billion Catholics in a loving expression of worldwide solidarity. More than 98 cents of every dollar raised goes directly to the Holy Father's spiritual and charitable efforts around the globe.

FAITH AND SHARING RETREAT
In 1968, Jean Vanier, founder of the L'Arche
Community, was asked by the Bishop of Toronto to give a retreat for priests. Vanier asked that it be open to all people, rich and poor, young and old, married and single. He believed in creating a community in retreat by inviting people to share from their hearts. In 1969, Fr. Jim O'Donnell went to Canada to make the second Faith and Sharing Retreat. He said it changed his life and is the reason he now lives among the poor. Here are details of the coming retreat here: Retreat leaders: Fr. Jim O'Donnell and Sr. Maggie Walsh-Conrad, both involved in such retreats for more than 30 years. Registration: 4:30 p.m. Thursday, June 29. Closing by 11 a.m. Mass Sunday, July 2. Location:
St. Joseph Christian Life
Center, 18485 Lake Shore Blvd., Cleveland Cost: Adults, $160; children, $125 - includes all meals, snacks, supplies and lodging. Information and reservations: Eric Johnson (440-826-3742) or Chris Alvarado (216-344-2232)
