Thank You!
Many people have commented about how beautiful the Holy Week and Easter liturgies were and how beautiful the church looks. A special word of thanks to all who have shared their gifts, especially Charlene McElwee, our liturgical-music minister, Kay Vine, who coordinates the environment/decorating, the planning teams, those who clean and decorate, musicians, cantors, choir members, servers, liturgical ministers. And a note of gratitude to those who made special contributions toward the purchase of plants and flowers. Your presence, your gifts, your prayer and hard work helped beautify our liturgy and our church for Holy Week & Easter.
God Bless!

CATHOLIC HOME MISSIONSGive Generously to the Catholic Home Missions Appeal
There will be a second collection next week for the Catholic Home Missions Appeal. This appeal supports missions here in the United States. There are many places in America where the Catholic Church struggles just to keep parishes open and to educate children in the faith. Some dioceses are terribly short of priests, sisters and the resources needed to run parishes. Please plan to give generously to assist fellow Catholics in America.

A MESSAGE FROM ED SUSZYNSKI, JR.:

Dear Parishioners,
Today, Sunday, April 23rd, marks my last 'official' day at St. Malachi. Beginning Monday, I will be returning to St. Mary Seminary for three weeks of class followed by two more years of seminary study with the intention of priestly ordination in May 2008.
As I depart from St. Malachi, I will be taking with me many wonderful memories and experiences, from working with RCIA, The Backdoor Ministry, St. Malachi Center, Malachi House, and teaching at Urban Community School. I will also take with me, HOPE, because so many of my experiences here reminded me time and time again, just how present God is in our world! In addition, what I will carry with me, and remember the most, is all of the support you have given me. From day one I can remember not coming to a 'new place' but rather, being welcomed into a place I could call home! I am very grateful for all of your encouraging words that have helped affirm my vocation and words of constructive criticism that have challenged me to grow. I am walking away from this experience with hope, enthusiasm, passion, and a greater desire to serve God as a priest.
Please know that as I leave here, St. Malachi Church will always have a special place in my heart and I will continue to pray for you and I simply ask for your prayers in return. Thank you, it has truly been an honor and privilege to be here, to learn, to serve, to grow, and to pray.

Peace be with you,
Ed Suszynski, Jr.
