SOUP FOR THE SOUL
The committee for Soup for the Soul, a fun fundraiser benefiting St. Malachi Center, is starting to plan for the 2006 event. The committee is in need of some volunteers who would be willing to help us identify and talk with some companies for corporate sponsorships and/or gifts. If you can donate a little time and are willing, please send an email to st_malachi@ameritech.net or call 216-771-3036.
LIGHTS FOR LIFE
Funded entirely through donations, since 1988
Malachi House
has provided a loving, final home for more than 1,060 of our neediest neighbors at absolutely no charge to them or their families. Its fourth annual “Lights for Life” celebration will held at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at the house, 2810 Clinton Ave., Cleveland. Each $10 donation purchases a light in memory or in honor of the donor's loved one, to be placed on the evergreen trees in the
Malachi House
garden. A reception and refreshments will follow. All gifts are tax-deductible and the honoree or family will be notified Flyers are at the back of the church. For information: Pat Branigan, 216-621-8831.
LAS POSADAS
Many years ago, St. Malachi Center adapted the Mexican Christmas tradition of Las Posadas, the remembrance of the Holy Family's search for a room at an inn. The Celebration includes active involvement in procession, prayer, song, and meal by St. Malachi volunteers and Center participants. The Festivity takes place on the St. Malachi grounds. After the procession there is a light meal. This year the Event is on Saturday, December 17th from 4:30 to about 7:30pm. There is a sign up sheet at the 9:30 and 11:00 coffees hours or please call
St. Malachi Center, 216-771-3036. Please join the Commemoration and sign up to participate.
