St. Malachi Church welcomes Edward Suszynski, a third-year student at St. Mary Seminary, as he begins his internship at St. Malachi. The internship program provides seminarians with “hands-on” experience of parish life and ministry. Ed is from St. Bede Church in Mentor. He will be with us until the end of April.
ST. MALACHI 140TH ANNIVERSARY MASS
Bishop Anthony Pilla will celebrate the 9:30 AM Mass on Sunday, November 6, in celebration of the Feast of St. Malachy and the 140th Anniversary of St. Malachi Parish. Save the date and plan to attend!
LITURGICAL MINISTERS REFLECTION AFTERNOON
All St. Malachi Parish & Community liturgical ministers (ushers, lectors, Eucharistic ministers, musicians, servers, planners, sacristans, hospitality, etc.) are invited to a time of reflection from 1-3 p.m. this Saturday, Oct. 8., at the River's Edge (Founders' Room), Sisters of St. Joseph, 3430 Rocky River Dr. Fr. Joe Fortuna, pastor of Ascension Parish, will speak on liturgical spirituality. We will pray the Hours and you will personally reflect on the significance of your ministry. BLANKET SUNDAY COMING SOON
The annual Blanket Sunday collection will be the weekend of 8 - 9 October 2005. You can help the needy of our Diocese by donating new or like-new blankets, sheets or towels. Other items collected will be distributed to needy families through a group of 60 agencies serving the poor and needy of our area. If you don't have any of these items to donate, please consider a cash donation. The
St. Vincent de
Paul Society will use the monetary donations to purchase, in bulk, new blankets, bedding and warm winter wear to help someone get through the winter.

St. Malachi Center's
13th annual benefit Family Golf Outing and Pig Roast, Friday, Oct. 7, Bob-O-Links Golf Course, Avon. Cost: $100 for 18 holes (includes lunch and dinner), $70 for nine holes (includes lunch and dinner), $360 for a single-reservation foursome (lunch and dinner); $35 for dinner only, at 4 p.m. After-dinner entertainment includes music. MALACHI HOUSE BENEFIT
Malachi House's 18th annual benefit, “Let the Good Dice Roll,” is Friday, Oct. 21, at La Centre in Westlake. Donations are now being sought for the silent auction, especially tickets for sports and cultural events, art, memorabilia, collectibles and travel packages. KEATING CENTER BENEFIT CLAM BAKE
The Keating Center's annual Clambake is this Sunday, Oct. 2, from 1-6 PM at the Ed Keating Center - West, 2121 W. 117 St,. The cost is $35 for either a steak or clambake dinner, with all the trimmings. Proceeds benefit the Keating Center's work of rehabilitation with recovering alcoholics.
