CHRISTIAN FORMATION
Christian Formation is a year-long religious education for youth from pre-school (age 4) to grade 12. Classes begin Sunday, September 18. Registrations are being accepted now. To register or learn more call Karen (216) 346-0784.

JESUS CARITAS PRAYER GROUP
On Monday evenings this summer, a group has gathered from 7-8:30 PM for quiet prayer & sharing. The Jesus Caritas prayer group will collect prayer intentions from the basket at the St. Malachi Shrine for prayer on the first Monday each month, as was done previously through Circle of Prayer. JESUIT RETREAT HOUSE BENEFIT
Third Annual Dinner & Auction, Saturday, Sept. 17; with dinner, live & silent auctions, retreat house tours. Tickets: $100 per person, $175 per couple. (Sponsor/benefactor levels available.)

MALACHI HOUSE 18TH ANNUAL BENEFIT
With the theme, “Let the Good Times Roll,” the major annual fundraiser will be held Friday, Oct. 21, at La Centre in Westlake. Proceeds allow Malachi House to care for its terminally ill residents without cost to them or their families. Donations are being sought for the silent auction, especially tickets for sports and cultural events, art, memorabilia, collectibles and travel packages. Donated items will be displayed and listed in the program. Donation forms are available at the rectory or by calling the Benefit Committee, 440-331-2258.

“ALL-MALACHI” PICNIC PLANNING
Next Sunday, September 11, there will be a brief meeting to discuss the 2005 All Malachi Picnic at Noon in St. Malachi Center.  All are welcome to bring suggestions & comments to make 2006 better than ever. If you cannot attend, forward comments to Cathy Graham at 216-771-3036 or xdir_smc@ameritech.net.

READING VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The Retired Senior Volunteer Program needs reading tutors in 15 schools. If you are 55 years or older & can give 3-15 hrs. a week, call Experience Corps at 216-391-9500.

SEEDS OF LITERACY - “SOWING SEEDS OF HOPE” 
Benefit Brunch and Silent Auction, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, Massimo da Milano, Detroit Avenue and West 25 St. Reservation range: $35 to $2500. Call 216-651-4302. Seeds of Literacy is an educational ministry initiated by the Congregation of St. Joseph to help adults in need of assistance in reading, writing and math and to improve their ability to function, compete and advance in society in an atmosphere of Christian care and compassion.
 
MEN'S RETREAT
All men of St. Malachi Parish & Community of St. Malachi are invited to a “MaleSpirit” men's retreat, Oct. 21-23. The retreat will be led by Br. Joe Kilikevice, a Dominican friar from Chicago, who has been directing men's retreats since 1986. Fliers are at the church doors. St. Malachi Center's 13th annual benefit Family Golf Outing and Pig Roast is Friday, October 7, at Bob-O-Links Golf Course, Avon.
