SPECIAL COLLECTION FOR HURRICANE RELIEF
We all have seen images of the devastation and destruction from Hurricane Katrina. Millions of people are in desperate need of assistance. This weekend we will be taking up a special collection for hurricane relief efforts. We will forward donations

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE
In 2001, a United Nations resolution established September 21 as the International Day of Peace. One of the goals of the UN is to seek a cease fire wherever there is war. Another goal is to encourage people around the globe to spend time in prayer and meditation asking “May peace prevail…” in our homes, our neighborhoods, and our countries. A 24-hour vigil is held in NY at the UN, and Cleveland area organizations will also hold vigils. St. Malachi will observe this event and plans are being made for several activities beginning September 11 and culminating with a special evening on Wednesday, September 21. Watch for details in future bulletins.
