“St. Malachi? Oh, that's where they feed
all those people.”
For many years, the Monday Night Meal has been a “signature” ministry at St. Malachi. And for many years Dave Starre has been instrumental in keeping it that way. Through these years, countless valued volunteers have made it possible. Today, the hungry are still with us but the volunteers are fewer. Hence this message from Dave:
“We need cooks and fruit/vegetable providers for the St. Malachi Monday Night Meal Program. Volunteers would do any one of these three functions once a month and bring the product into the St. Malachi hall kitchen on Sunday, or before the meal is served on Monday. For example, if chicken were being served, you would be asked to cook 30 pieces of chicken at home, then bring them to the hall. Six different menu selections are available and these are found in the kitchen. Our callers would phone or e-mail you with the selection several days before that particular Monday. The fruit and vegetable providers would be handled the same way. We are in need of help from Community of St. Malachi and St. Malachi Parish members and from any outside people interested in being providers. Attrition has taken a toll recently and we are still serving large crowds on Monday nights. Please call me at 440-526-3876 or e-mail me at
DSTARRE777@AOL.COM
Thanks, Dave Starre”

looking up to heaven, he said the blessing, broke the loaves, and gave them to the disciples, who in turn gave them to the crowds." -Mt 14:18-19 |
