A
THANK YOU FROM THE ST. MALACHI CENTER

“Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.” (Hebrews 13:2) The first annual Old Angle Family Fun Festival is now history. What a beautiful day! Because of a group of bighearted people, St. Malachi Center offered some old-fashioned hospitality to all who came to walk the new Superior Viaduct park area last Saturday, July 2nd. While St. Malachi Center hosted the event (applause goes to Cathy [Saegel] Graham and Veronica Wessel who organized the afternoon), it was all of the volunteers who made each booth of food, game, activity, and information a welcoming part of the festival. There were volunteers from the neighborhood, from the houses and hi-rises. There were Parish volunteers, Community volunteers, St Malachi Center staff volunteers, friends of the staff volunteers, and St. Malachi Center Board of Directors volunteers. The scenery was breathtaking. These people were all in one place, one sunny, though breezy afternoon, to share some fun with the Old Angle neighborhood. A good time was had by all. The event reminded me of a mixed bouquet of summer flowers - each flower beautiful on its own, but put all the different flowers together and the bunch is stunning. Thank you, volunteers, for a stunning afternoon.
