COLLECTION FOR CHURCH IN EASTERN EUROPE
Today is the annual appeal for the Church in Eastern Europe. This supports the continuing efforts to strengthen the church's ministry throughout Central and Eastern Europe. Many at St. Malachi will remember Jan Dolny, a seminarian from Slovakia who was here for his pastoral experience last year. The scholarship for theological studies at Catholic University in Washington is supported by this appeal. There will be a second collection at all Masses. |

MISSION APPEAL THANKS!
Fr. Richard Reese OSFS, who was here last month for the Mission Appeal writes: “I want to thank the people of St. Malachi for your very generous support of our missions. The good Lord will bless you many times over for your generosity. You will be in my prayers.
You have a great parish and community. The sharing is a real sign of Christian community. Let us pray for each other.” In Christ, Fr. Richard Reese
COMPANIONS ON THE JOURNEY LEAFLET
Copies of the inaugural issue of Companions on the Journey can be found at the doors of the church. This monthly leaflet features the Gospel for each Sunday, with a reflection and prayer. Psalm verses for reflection along with other articles and features are included. This is a new initiative from the church staff created especially for those who are homebound, ill or for any reason unable to attend Sunday Mass. If you know anyone who may benefit from Companions on the Journey, please pick up a copy.
If you know someone who is homebound, ill or for any reason unable to attend Sunday Mass, please let the office know, so that we can arrange to visit and bring Communion.

S.M.A.R.T. PARENTS SUMMER MOVIES
(St. Malachi Adults Raising Tots, Tweens, Teens…): We are again planning to enjoy family movies at Lakewood Park. Movies begin at dusk. We will meet at approximately 6:30 P.M. near the Kiwanis Pavilion for a picnic supper and playground fun, and then we wander over to the movies at sundown. Feel free to join in for one or both parts of the evening. If you come early for the picnic, bring your own meat to grill, drinks, picnic supplies, and a dish to pass. It's a low stress way to enjoy a summer evening. The movie schedule for Lakewood Park: June 10: Jimmie Neutron Boy Genius; June 24: Spirit: Stallion of Cimmaron; July 8: Daddy Day Care (PG); July 22: Muppets from Space;August 12: Shark Tale (PG). In the event of inclement weather we will not picnic, however, films will be shown at Emerson Middle School Gym at 8:00 P.M. Look for the sign posted by the Lakewood Recreation Department at the entrance of Lakewood Park. Please join us for summer fun and fellowship!!!

SOCIAL ACTION IS CONTAGIOUS
In June, we offer our prayers and support to our neighbors at the
LAKEVIEW HIGH
RISE. We know that many of the Senior Citizens who live there must do without things that we often take for granted. Money for leisure time activities is hard to come by after buying food and medicine. The Common Room is where neighbors come together for companionship and entertainment. They need playing cards, puzzles, board games, crossword and other puzzle books, and the like, to keep in the Common Room for all to share. Can you donate an item from the list to support this effort? A box for your donation in at the front of the church. For more information, contact Lois Westerkamp (440) 331-3705, or Joyce Geib (216) 521-4252.
