PROFILING THE MALACHI MINISTRIES:

Malachi House
Malachi House is a private, non-profit home for indigent terminally ill persons with six months or less to live. Our residents have no able or willing caregiver, little or no medical insurance, and few financial resources. Many come from dysfunctional environments, and may suffer from addiction or mental illness in addition to their primary diagnosis. Not a hospital or nursing home, Malachi House instead offers them a private room in a warm, secure environment: home-cooked meals; and the love and support of a trained staff and volunteers, who are available 24 hours a day. Their medical needs are provided for through a hospice team, which visits the house regularly.
Since 1988, Malachi House has cared for nearly 950 individuals in the final weeks and months of their lives. Malachi House provides all services at no cost to the residents or their families, and receives no government subsidies or insurance payments. Instead, Malachi House is funded solely through financial and in-kind donations from the many individuals, corporations, and foundations that share their commitment to insuring that no one should die alone.

| "... and, upon his arrival home, he calls together his friends and neighbors and says to them, 'Rejoice with me because |
|
I have found my lost sheep.' I tell you, in just the same way there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance."
