LITURGY UPDATES Please note today's bulletin attachment explaining what the General Instruction of the Roman Missal is and why it is important for the liturgy. This is the 2nd installment of a series designed to help deepen our understanding of the purpose & meaning of our words & actions at Mass -- especially the Communion rite B to help us pray better.

This Sunday there will be a second collection for the annual Catholic Communication Campaign. Your generous gift will help the Catholic Communication Campaign spread the Goods News, fostering a world of love and peace
CHURCH ENVELOPES New envelopes are available at the doors of the church. They are for the next 15 months B Oct thru Dec. 2004.Please remember to write your name & address on the new envelopes so we can keep proper records.
RENEWING YOUR FAITH PROGRAM This Monday is the first session of Renewing Your Catholic Faith, an adult faith-formation program for Catholics seeking deeper understanding of the faith & better connect faith & life. Sessions are Monday evenings, 7-8:30 PM at St. Patrick (Bridge) Club building (next to the rectory). Call Fr. Tony or Mary Jane Treichel at (216) 861-5343.

NEW BULLETINS Beginning in Advent, we will be changing our bulletin format. Liturgical Publications will print the bulletin at no cost to the parish; the cost will be offset by advertising on the back. Please call the rectory for information 
PANCAKE BREAKFAST The senior Christian Formation Class is holding a Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, Oct. 5 after 9:30 & 11:00 Masses in the hall to help fund their trip to the National Catholic Youth Conference this fall. Please support them!
SAMARITAN MINISTRY St. Malachi Samaritan Ministry begins this Friday, October 3, 1-4:30 PM, at St. Malachi Center. This 4-session workshop offers education on alcohol & drug addiction. The program is free; register at first session 
JOURNEY OF HOPE This Friday, October 3, St. Malachi Social Action welcomes Sam Reese Shepherd & Donna Larsen, who will speak about the Death Penalty as part of the Ohio 2003 Journey of Hope from violence to healing. There is a potluck at 6:30 PM, program at 7 PM. Bring main or side dish, salad or dessert to share. Call Mike French (216) 687-0778
BLANKET SUNDAY Oct 12th is Blanket Sunday. We accept new or like-new blankets, sheets, pillow cases, towels, & washcloths to give to families & homeless people. All donations in Blanket Sunday envelopes go to St. Vincent de Paul Society.
MALACHI HOUSE This Sunday marks the 15th Anniversary of Malachi House. On Sept. 28, 1988, Malachi House welcomed its first resident. On Thursday, it welcomed its 824th resident. May God continue to bless its ministry!

SUPPORT WELCOME A meal without cost is served to the needy on Mondays at 6 PM in the parish hall. Doughnuts, sandwiches, and coffee are served daily at the rectory. Volunteers are welcome. Call Sr. Francis at (216) 861-5343.

MENT BOOKS
St. Malachi Center has Entertainment 2004 books available in a combined East-West Side edition in the back of church, the rectory, at coffee hour, at the Mart and at the Center. Cost is $25 before December 2; after, $30.

MALACHI  MART
Malachi Mart hours: 10 AM-6 PM, Tuesday through Saturday; 10 AM-2 PM Sunday.
Malachi Mart supports the ministry of St. Malachi Center and is always looking for volunteers  to assist in every way.  For more information, call (216) 621-1988.

SUPPLIES
Many of the required items for the start of the school year may be found at Malachi Mart during their "Back-to School Sale" already in progress. Help support St. Malachi Center by shopping at the Mart!

"PLANET GREEN" "PLANET' GREEN" Please continue to save empty printer cartridges for the "Planet Green" environmental project. Cartridges will be  recycled & refilled; we receive a rebate for every 25 we collect. They may be dropped off at the church or rectory.
PRISON MINISTRY Soft-bound inspirational books and pamphlets are needed for our prison ministry and will be distributed to the inmates at the Cleveland Justice Center. Please bring them to the rectory or place in the container by Mary’s altar.
FINANCE Last Sunday's collection was $3,125 ($3,180 budgeted). Your continued support is deeply appreciated.
