This Friday is the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a holy
day of obligation. There is a Vigil Mass Thursday at 5:30 PM and Holy Day Masses
on Friday at 7 AM and 12 Noon.

| RCIA JOURNEY |
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA),
a journey of faith open to
all who are interested in exploring the Catholic faith. We meet on Monday
evenings at St. Patrick, starting in September. Summer is a good time to invite
those who have begun to find a home at St. Malachi, but are not in full

Come, Walk & Pray! You are invited to join the dedicated and faith-filled men, women and children at 7PM every Wednesday in the church parking lot as they walk for peace to Public Square and back. Prayer works wonders!

| CHARITY OF THE MONTH |
The Social Action Commission "August charity of the month" is to
gather school supplies for the children of Urban Community
School and St.
Malachi Center. Items needed: back packs, pencils, glue sticks, markers, colored
pencils, rulers, erasers, scissors, etc. A donation box is located in church by
Mary's altar.

| HEALING MASS |
Voice of the Faithful will present a Mass of Healing on August 24 at
12:00 noon at Padua Franciscan High School in Parma. A panel discussion of
professionals, experienced in the field of sexual abuse, will be led by John
Servak, author of Dear Teacher. If You Only Knew. Voice of the Faithful is
an organization of 30,000 mainstream Catholics, formed in response to the sexual

OUTING |
The 11th Annual St. Malachi Center Family Golf Outing & Clam bake is
September 12 at Bob-O-Links Golf Course in Avon. The fee is $90 for the 18-hole
scramble at 11:00 AM; the fee is $60 for the 9-hole scramble at 12:30 PM,
(includes a cart, lunch, clam bake & door prizes.) Dinner alone is $35.

"PLANET' GREEN" Please continue to save empty printer cartridges for the "Planet Green" environmental
project. Cartridges will be recycled & refilled; we receive a rebate for every 25 we collect. They may be dropped off at the church or rectory.

PRISON MINISTRY
|
Soft-bound inspirational books and pamphlets are needed
for our prison ministry and will be distributed to the inmates at the
Cleveland Justice Center. Please bring them to the rectory or place in the
container by Mary’s altar.

Last Sunday's collection was $3,364 ($3,180 budgeted). This fiscal year (July
1), collections have totaled $16,086, with $15,900 budgeted.
