FR JOHN RETAR Next Saturday, August 2. newly—ordained Fr. John Retar will be at St. Malachi to celebrate the 4:30 PM Mass. Fr. John served his pastoral internship at St. Malachi during the 2000-2001 school year.
SECRETARY POSITION

St. Malachi has an opening for a full-time secretary in the rectory office, Monday - Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, This position requires proficiency in computer usage, including e-mail. Word, WordPerfect and Excel, basic office skills, and ability to deal with varied tasks & demands. For information, call Fr. Tony 216-861-5343.

THE "ALL" ST. MALACHI PICNIC Save the date and plan to attend the annual St. Malachi Picnic, Sunday, August 17, at Lakewood Park Women's Pavilion. The fun begins at 1:30 and includes frisbees, hoola hoops, wiffle ball; food served at 2 PM. Hot dogs, buns and beverages provided; bring a side dish to share. RCIA JOURNEY The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), a journey of faith for all seeking to explore the Catholic faith, meets Monday evenings at St. Patrick, starting in September. Call Mary Jane or Fr. Tony Schuerger 861-5343.
THE PEACE WALKERS  Come, Walk & Pray! You are invited to join the dedicated and faith-filled men, women and children at 7PM every Wednesday in the church parking lot as they walk for peace to Public Square and back. Prayer works wonders!
YOUNG TEENS CAFE Mark your calendars early and plan to treat the family to lunch at the 3rd Annual Y.T.A.Café. The Young Teen Alliance of St. Malachi Center purchases, prepares and serves the food; a chance for the teens to experience on-the-job restaurant skills. The Café will be open Monday, August 4, from 12:30 to 2:30 PM at the Center.
FAITH & SHARING RETREAT Sr. Maggie Walsh-Conrad will animate the Faith & Sharing Retreat, Thursday to Sunday, August 7-10 at St. Joseph Christian Life Center. Based on the spirituality of Jean Vanier, the retreat is a shared journey of faith, prayer & celebration for all, "rich or poor, weak or strong, big or small." The theme is "Christ Be Our Light." adults $145, children 6-12 $125.

St WENDELIN GARAGE SALE Next Sunday, August 3 St. Wendelin Church is sponsoring their annual Summer Ice Cream Social and Garage Sale from Noon to 5 PM at the parish, 2281 Columbus Rd. TALENT SHOW All are welcome to attend the 4th annual St. Malachi Center Summer Talent Show on Wednesday, August 6 from 4—6 PM in the Hall. This fun show will include drama, singing, step lines and dance. Refreshments will follow.

2. Monday Meal for the poor, 6:00 PM in the parish hall.
3. Wednesday: Eucharistic Quiet Hour, 3—4 PM in church 
Walk for Peace, 7 PM, meet in church parking lot
4. Thursday: Eucharistic Holy Hour for peace at 11:00 AM; Mass at Noon.
5. Sunday: Coffee Hour after 9:30 Mass in the Hall
SUPPORT WELCOME A meal without cost is served to the needy on Mondays at 6 PM in the parish hall. Doughnuts, sandwiches, and coffee are served daily at the rectory. Volunteers are needed, especially weekdays, call Sr. Francis 216-861 -5343.

Malachi Mart hours: 10 AM-6 PM, Tuesday through Saturday; 10 AM-2 PM Sunday.
Malachi Mart supports the ministry of St. Malachi Center and is always looking for volunteers  to assist in every way.  For more information, call (216) 621-1988.

"PLANET GREEN" "PLANET' GREEN" Please continue to save empty printer cartridges for the "Planet Green" environmental project. Cartridges will be  recycled & refilled; we receive a rebate for every 25 we collect. They may be dropped off at the church or rectory.
BACKDOOR
NEEDS
With warmer weather approaching, our Backdoor Ministry is in need of men's white tube socks and large & extra large t-shirts. If you can help, please drop items off at the church or rectory.  Thank you!.
PRISON MINISTRY Soft-bound inspirational books and pamphlets are needed for our prison ministry and will be distributed to the inmates at the Cleveland Justice Center. Please bring them to the rectory or place in the container by Mary’s altar.
