NEW PRIESTS Congratulations and blessings to Fr. John Retar and his nine classmates, who were ordained priests on Saturday, May 17. Fr. John served his seminary internship at St. Malachi two years ago. May God bless their ministry!

ED CLASSES
At St. Malachi, religious education classes for children & teens is coordinated through the Community of St. Malachi. Registration for fall classes is underway now; registrations are due June 1. APPEAL
This week, the parish appeal phase of the Catholic Charities campaign continues. Catholic 
Charities provides health & human services to 600,000 people in Northeast Ohio. Your 
support is needed!
If you have not contributed in another phase of the campaign, please 
pick up a donation/pledge envelope at the door of the church & return it in the collection or to the Rectory. You can also donate on-line at www.clevelandcatholiccharities.org.
St MALACHI CENTER RAFFLE St. Malachi Center's annual benefit raffle supports Center programs & activities. The drawing is May 26, Memorial Day. Main prize is $10,000; tickets are $20, with 2,500 tickets printed. To sell tickets, call Pat Donnelly at (216) 521-6890 or Mary Ellen Grealis at (440) 235-6528. Tickets are available at church or rectory. 
UCS SPORTS
PROGRAM
Coaches and assistants are urgently needed for the 2003-04 season of Urban Community School's Sports Program.  Filling this need is crucial to field teams. If you can help, please call Mrs. Sue Friedel by June 6 at 216-861-4706.
STEPS TO
SUCCESS
St. Malachi Center has received funds for a "Steps to Success" Program to provide hands-on 
experience to teach young adults the skills needed to get & keep a job
. Each program 
session runs for 10 weeks. The Center is seeking employers for shadowing opportunities. To help, call the Coordinator, Misty Redding (216) 771-3036.

4. Wednesday: Eucharistic Quiet Hour, 3-4 PM in church 
- Walk for Peace continues, meet in the church parking lot at 7 PM 
5. Thursday: Eucharistic Holy Hour for peace at 11:00 AM; Mass at Noon.
6. Sunday: Backdoor Ministry Brunch, 8:30-9:30 AM in the hall
- Coffee Hour after 9:30 Mass in the Hall
- Angle Drawing after 12:30 Mass; proceeds for building maintenance. Tickets available in vestibule.

SUPPORT WELCOME A meal without cost is served to the needy on Mondays at 6 PM in the parish hall; brunch is served the last Sunday of each month; doughnuts, sandwiches & coffee are served daily at the rectory. Volunteers needed, 216-861-5343.

PRISON MINISTRY Soft-bound inspirational books and pamphlets are needed for our prison ministry and will be distributed to the inmates at the Cleveland Justice Center. Please bring them to the rectory or place in the container by Mary’s altar.
"PLANET GREEN" "PLANET' GREEN" Please continue to save empty printer cartridges for the "Planet Green" environmental project. Cartridges will be  recycled & refilled; we receive a rebate for every 25 we collect. They may be dropped off at the church or rectory.
