VOTE ON MAY 6! This Tuesday, May 6, is election day. One of the critical issues on the ballot is Issue 15, the Health & Human Services Levy. It has been endorsed by the Commission on Catholic Community Action,. Your vote matters!
WELCOME STEFAN! St. Malachi welcomes Stefan Oslovic, a seminarian from the Diocese of Kosice in Slovakia. Stefan. is in the U.S. as part of his pastoral training. He will be with us for a couple of months to experience parish life & ministry.
CONFIRMATION St. Malachi will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation on Tuesday, May 20 at St. Patrick Church.  Adults and teenagers who have not yet been confirmed, please contact Fr. Tony (216) 861-5343 to begin preparation.
WORK ON STEPS OF ORIGINAL CHURCH Work to remove the steps to the old church continues & will last several weeks. St. Malachi recently received a significant bequest from a will. The Finance Council recommended to use the funds to finish the project now, rather than add cost to complete the work later. The workers have uncovered the foundation wall of the old church, which will be preserved & kept visible when the project is completed. The remaining stonework will also be fixed.
CATECHETICAL SERVICES Next weekend is the collection for Catechetical Services. The Office of Catechetical Services includes the Newman Campus Ministry Office and Religious Education Office. its mission is to support life-long faith development,  both for our children and our college/university students. There will be a second collection at all Masses.
SPRING FLING A Spring Fling Dance for all 21+ is Saturday, May 17, 8 PM -Midnight in the hall. Appetizers, beer& pop will be provided. Proceeds help fund the Senior High Christian Formation group's trip to the National Youth Conference in Texas this fall. Tickets are $15 & are available from the seniors or call Karen Duffy (440-331-5289) after 5 PM
MALACHI CENTER RAFFLE St. Malachi Center's annual benefit raffle supports Center programs & activities. The drawing is May 26, Memorial Day. Main prize is $10,000; tickets are $20, with 2,500 tickets printed. To sell tickets, call Pat Donnelly at 216-521-6890 or Mary Ellen Grealis at 440-235-6528. Tickets are available at church or rectory.
UCS SPORTS
PROGRAM
Coaches and assistants are urgently needed for the 2003-04 season of Urban Community School's Sports Program.  Filling this need is crucial to field teams. If you can help, please call Mrs. Sue Friedel by June 6 at 216-861-4706.
LENTEN CROSSES  Please bring all nail crosses carried throughout Lent back to the church. The crosses may be joined to the large wooden cross or placed in the basket at the foot of the cross. They will be used again next year. Thank you.

4. Wednesday: Eucharistic Quiet Hour, 3-4 PM in church Walk for Peace meet in the church parking lot at 7PM
5. Thursday: Eucharistic Holy Hour for peace at 11:00 AM; Mass at Noon.
6. Sunday: Coffee Hour after 9:30 Mass in the Hall Rejoice & Renew Social Action, 10:30-11:00 AM in the hall

SUPPORT WELCOME A meal without cost is served to the needy on Mondays at 6 PM in the parish hall.
Doughnuts, sandwiches, and coffee are served daily at the rectory. Volunteers are needed, especially weekdays. Call Sr. Francis: 216-861-5343.

BACKDOOR
NEEDS
Our Backdoor Ministry is in desperate need of men's white tube socks and Lge. & X-Lge. t-shirts. If you can help with this need, please drop items off at church or at the rectory. Thank you!

Malachi Mart hours: 10 AM-6 PM, Tuesday through Saturday; 10 AM-2 PM Sunday.
Stop in at the Mart and support the Center.

supports the ministry of St. Malachi Center and is always looking for volunteers  to assist in every way.  For more information, call (216) 621-1988.
PRISON MINISTRY Soft-bound inspirational books and pamphlets are needed for our prison ministry and will be distributed to the inmates at the Cleveland Justice Center. Please bring them to the rectory or place in the container by Mary’s altar.
"PLANET GREEN" "PLANET' GREEN" Please continue to save empty printer cartridges for the "Planet Green" environmental project. Cartridges will be  recycled & refilled; we receive a rebate for every 25 we collect. They may be dropped off at the church or rectory.
