COMMUNAL PENANCE SERVICES Lent is a special time of repentance and conversion. You are invited to come to the Communal Penance Service  this Sunday, March 23, 2 PM at St. Patrick (Bridge); Tuesday, March 25, 7 PM at St. Malachi; and Sunday, April 6, 2 PM at St. Wendelin. Several priests will be available for the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
LENTEN
OUTREACH
This Lent, we invite support for Fr. Eugene Hattie's ministry with orphan children in Uganda, Africa. Individuals & families are asked to make a Lenten sacrifice, perhaps $.50 or $1 a day & donate the money saved. Envelopes are at the church doors & can be returned in the collection. Make checks payable to St. Malachi Benefit Fund
US BISHOPS OVERSEAS AID APPEAL Next weekend is the U.S.Bishops Overseas Appeal. The appeal supports the Catholic Relief Services' work with victims of natural disaster & human strife. The Migration & Refugee Services works with people newly arrived in this country. There will be a second collection during all Masses.
SOUP FOR THE SOUL BENEFIT St. Malachi Center's 3rd annual Soup for the Soul benefit is Thursday, April 3, 6:30 to 10:30 PM at Window's  on the River. Tickets are $35. Call Peggy Cooney at 440-835-1959 or Barb Parkowski at 440-734-5822.
DIRECTORY AVAILABLE 

St. Malachi Photo Directories will be available this weekend for those who had a portrait taken or paid the $5 fee.  Directories will be in church after the 4:30 and 12:30 Masses, and at coffee hour after the 9:30 and 11:00 Masses.

SUPPORT WELCOME A meal without cost is served to the needy on Mondays at 6 PM in the parish hall. Doughnuts, sandwiches, and coffee are served daily at the rectory. Volunteers are needed, especially weekdays. Call Sr. Francis: 216-861-5343.

STATE CUTS PROTEST Two buses will travel to Columbus on Wednesday, April 9, to join in the march protesting the budget cuts which will have a negative impact on human services in this area. Leave from the E.9th St. Municipal Parking lot at 7:30 AM and return at 5:30 PM. No charge. RSVP: Donna Colanog 216-941-7076 or Tim Walters 216-631-5800.
AREA YMCA BENEFIT Be a part of the effort to save the 100-year-old YMCA at West 32nd and Franklin this Sunday by attending their Spaghetti Dinner Fund Raiser at 4:30 PM. Tickets are $6 / $3 for children. YMCA t-shirts will also be on sale.

NEW ITEMS Malachi Mart now has items from Heartbeats, a Rocky River store run by the Humility of Mary Sisters. Items include Indonesian soup, blessing cards, book markers & hearth stones & benefits workers in the developing world.
CONFIRMATION St. Malachi will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation on Tuesday, May 20 at St. Patrick Church. Adults and teenagers who have not yet been confirmed, please contact Fr. Tony (216) 861-5343 to begin preparation.
WALK FOR PEACE The Prayer Walk for Peace continues to grow and expresses through unified prayer our desire for peace in the world. Meet in the parking lot by the side of church Wednesday at 7 PM. Come for Stations of the Cross at 6:30.
PRISON MINISTRY Soft-bound inspirational books and pamphlets are needed for our prison ministry and will be distributed to the inmates at the Cleveland Justice Center. Please bring them to the rectory or place in the container by Mary’s altar.
"PLANET GREEN" Please continue to save empty printer cartridges for the "Planet Green" environmental project. Cartridges will be recycled & refilled. They may be dropped off at the church or rectory.
