MISSIONS to
MINORITIES
This weekend is the annual appeal to support evangelization efforts among Native & African Americans. This appeal supports national and local projects. A second collection will be taken at all Masses.
RCIA RITE: ELECTION This Sunday, Candidates & Catechumens in the RCIA journey of faith celebrate the Rite of Election with Bishop Pilla, the final step as they prepare for reception into the Church at Easter. Please keep them in your prayers.
LENTEN
OUTREACH
This year, St. Malachi is asking everyone to support Jesuit missionary Fr. Eugene Hattie’s ministry with orphan children in Uganda, Africa. Individuals & families are asked to make a Lenten sacrifice, perhaps $.50 or $1 a day & donate the money saved. Special envelopes are found at the church doors; they can be returned in the collection basket. Please make checks payable to St. Malachi Benefit Fund; 100% of all funds will be sent to Africa.
GOD BLESS God's blessing on Peter Ryan Quigley, son of James and Mary Ryan Quigley, who was baptized last week! May Peter continue to grow in wisdom, grace and age.
WALK FOR PEACE The Prayer Walk for Peace continues to grow and expresses through unified prayer our desire for peace in the world. Meet in the parking lot by the side of church Wednesday at 7 PM. Come for Stations of the Cross at 6:30

APPLY FOR REVIEW BOARD

In accordance with Bishop Anthony Pilla and the new diocesan policy, the Special Commission on Sexual Abuse in the Diocese of Cleveland is accepting applications for membership on the Review Board that is being created to implement the new policy. Deadline for applications is March 20; they are available in the Rectory office.

MINISTERS
Parishioners interested in becoming Eucharistic Ministers, contact Fr. Tony at 216-861-5343 by this Monday, March 10. Requirements: at least 18 years old, Confirmed, Catholic in good standing. Training in March & April.
SOUP FOR THE SOUL BENEFIT St. Malachi Center’s 3rd annual Soup for the Soul benefit is Thursday, April 3, 6:30 to 10:30 PM at Window’s on the River. Tickets are $35. Call Peggy Cooney at 440-835-1959 or Barb Parkowski at 440-734-5822.
PRISON MINISTRY Soft-bound inspirational books and pamphlets are needed for our prison ministry and will be distributed to the inmates at the Cleveland Justice Center. Please bring them to the rectory or place in the container by Mary’s altar.

SUPPORT WELCOME A meal without cost is served to the needy on Mondays at 6 PM in the parish hall. Doughnuts, sandwiches, and coffee are served daily at the rectory. Volunteers are needed, especially weekdays. Call Sr. Francis: 216-861-5343.

READING BUDDIES St. Malachi Center After School Program needs “buddies”, adults to read with children from ages five to seven for one hour per week. Basic training and material is provided. To volunteer, call Kim White at 216-771-3036.
ADULT FAITH FORMATION Kevin & Becky McKenna will host informal gatherings on Tuesdays, March 11 and 18, from 6-8:30 PM to discuss “Our Hearts Were Burning Within Us”, the Bishops Plan for Adult Faith Formation. As part of Vibrant Parish Life, this invitation is also offered to St. Colman, St. Wendelin and St. Patrick Churches. MALACHI RUN The 23rd Annual St. Malachi Run will be held Saturday, March 15. Start times: 2 Mile: 9 AM, 5 Mile: 9:35 AM. Pre-registration $15; race day $18. Registration forms at church doors, rectory or call Hermes Sports 623-9933
CONFIRMATION St. Malachi will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation on Tuesday, May 20 at St. Patrick Church. Adults and teenagers who have not yet been confirmed, please contact Fr. Tony (216) 861-5343 to begin preparation.
ST. PAT’S BENEFIT The Annual Restoration Fund Drawing of St. Patrick Church Restoration Committee, Bridge Ave., St. Patrick's Day, March 17. 1st Prize: $10,000; Donation: $20. Tickets available at St. Malachi church entrance or rectory.
MALACHI  MART Malachi Mart hours: 10 AM-6 PM, Tuesday through Saturday; 10 AM-2 PM Sunday. Stop in at the Mart and support the Center.
