LENT BEGINS Lent begins Ash Wednesday, March 5, a day of fast & abstinence. Pope John Paul II is asking Catholics for fast for peace. See the Mass schedule with distribution of Ashes above. A Lenten flyer of spiritual & personal growth opportunities is attached to the Bulletin. Walk in Faith, a daily reflection booklet, is available at the church doors.
LENTEN
OUTREACH
This year, St. Malachi is asking everyone to support Jesuit missionary Fr. Eugene Hattie’s ministry with orphan children in Uganda, Africa. Individuals & families are asked to make a Lenten sacrifice, perhaps $.50 or $1 a day & donate the money saved. Special envelopes are found at the church doors; they can be returned in the collection basket. Please make checks payable to St. Malachi Benefit Fund; 100% of all funds will be sent to Africa. 
GOD BLESS God's blessing on Ryan Patrick Wallenhorst, son of Patrick and Pamela Stewart Wallenhorst, who was baptized last week! May Ryan continue to grow in wisdom, grace and age.. 
MISSIONS to
MINORITIES
Next weekend is the annual appeal to support evangelization efforts among Native & African Americans. This appeal, which began in 1884, supports national and local projects. A second collection will be taken at all Masses.
WALK FOR PEACE Your presence makes a difference! Join the Prayer Walk for Peace as it continues to grow and express through unified prayer our desire for peace in the world. Meet in the parking lot by the side of church Wednesday at 7 PM and join the Social Action Commission and many others in this powerful walk. Info, Fred Leonard 440-331-8325.

MINISTERS
Parishioners interested in becoming Eucharistic Ministers are asked to contact Fr. Tony at 216-861-5343 by March 10. Requirements: at least 18 years old, Confirmed, Catholic in good standing. Training in March & April.

READING BUDDIES St. Malachi Center After School Program needs “buddies”, adults to read with children from ages five to seven for one hour per week. Basic training and material is provided. To volunteer, call Kim White at 216-771-3036.
ADULT FAITH FORMATION Kevin & Becky McKenna will host informal gatherings on Tuesdays, March 11 and 18, from 6-8:30 PM to discuss “Our Hearts Were Burning Within Us”, the Bishops Plan for Adult Faith Formation. As part of Vibrant Parish Life, this invitation is also offered to St. Colman, St. Wendelin and St. Patrick Churches. CONFIRMATION St. Malachi will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation on Tuesday, May 20 at St. Patrick Church. Adults and teenagers who have not yet been confirmed, please contact Fr. Tony (216) 861-5343 to begin preparation.
ST. PATRICK DANCE
St. Patrick Parish (Bridge) is sponsoring a St. Patrick's Day Dance on Saturday, March 8, from 8 PM to 12 Midnight at the Club (3610 Bridge). Donation: $7, disc jockey, Masterson Irish Dancers, Pipers, prizes, food.
ST. PAT’S BENEFIT The Annual Restoration Fund Drawing of St. Patrick Church Restoration Committee, Bridge Ave., St. Patrick's Day, March 17. 1st Prize: $10,000; Donation: $20. Tickets available at St. Malachi church entrance or rectory.
MALACHI  MART Malachi Mart hours: 10 AM-6 PM, Tuesday through Saturday; 10 AM-2 PM Sunday. Stop in at the Mart and support the Center.
