ORDINARY TIME Today's Feast of the Baptism of the Lord brings the Christmas Season to an end & Ordinary Time begins. Sunday readings are taken from the "B" Cycle in the Lectionary; weekday readings are from Year 1.
VOCATION WEEK This is Vocation Awareness Week. We pray for seminarians preparing for priesthood, Deacon candidates (especially Kevin McKenna from St Malachi), women & men in religious life, & all preparing for church ministry.  This is also a good time to ask someone you know if they have considered a vocation as a Sister, Brother or priest.
CHRISTIAN UNITY OCTAVE The Octave of Prayer for Christian Unity begins next Saturday, January 18. Let us continue to pray for healing the divisions in the Christian family, praying as Jesus did, “that they may be one.” All are invited to an Interfaith Prayer Service on Wednesday, January 22, 12 Noon, at St. Joseph Christian Life Center, 18485 Lake Shore Blvd.

The 4th annual Benefit Dance for Fr. Jim O'Donnell's Little Brothers & Sisters of the Eucharist will be held on Friday, January 17 from 7 PM - Midnight at St. Clarence Hall, 30106 Lorain Ave., North Olmsted. All are invited to the Call to Service Festival, presented by the Social Action Commission in collaboration with the Shared Ministry of the Near West Side, on January 19 from 10 AM-2 PM in the school hall. View displays showing the efforts of volunteers working in our community, have some refreshments, and enjoy the entertainment!
RENEWAL
WEEKENDS
We Are The Church: A Call To Mission” will be held February 8-9 for women and March 8-9 for men at St. Malachi Church. The Renewal Weekends will be a time for prayer, study, action and mission. SOUP FOR THE SOUL The third annual Soup for the Soul benefit for St. Malachi Center will be held on Thursday, April 3 from 6:30 to 10:30 PM at Window’s on the River, located in the Flats. SUPPORT WELCOME A meal without cost is served to the needy on Mondays at 6 PM in the parish hall. Doughnuts, sandwiches, and coffee are served daily at the rectory. Volunteers are needed, especially weekdays. Call Sr. Francis: 216-861-5343.

PRISON
MINISTRY
Inspirational books and pamphlets are being collected for our prison ministry to be distributed to the inmates at the Cleveland Justice Center. Please bring them to the rectory or place in the container near the creche.
"PLANET GREEN" Please continue to save empty printer cartridges for the "Planet Green" environmental project. Cartridges will be recycled & refilled. They may be dropped off at the church or rectory.
