COMMUNAL PENANCE Lent is a special time of repentance and conversion. You are invited to come to our Communal Penance Service this Sunday, March 10, 2 PM at St. Patrick. Several priests will be available for the Sacrament of Reconciliation
SECOND SCRUTINY This weekend, the Elect of the RCIA Journey of Faith celebrate the Second Scrutiny as pad of their preparation for full initiation into the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil. Please keep them in prayer.
US BISHOPS OVERSEAS AID APPEAL  This weekend is the U.S. Bishops Overseas Appeal. The appeal supports the Catholic Relief Services' work with victims of natural disaster & human strife. The Migration & Refugee Services works with people newly arrived in this country. There will be a second collection during all Masses.
CHURCH CLEANING Join in the joy of cleaning the church for Easter on Saturday, March 16, 9AM - Noon. Coffee and pastry provided. Any amount of time you can give will be appreciated as "many hands make light work."
LENTEN OUTREACH PROJECT FOR EL SALVADOR
    
Almsgiving

Our Lenten outreach project will provide shoes for children & assist with church repairs in villages served by Fr. John King of our Diocesan Mission Team in Teotopeque, El Salvador. We ask each individual & family to choose a daily sacrifice, perhaps $.50 or $1 per day & donate the money saved. Special envelopes are available at the church doors & can be returned in the collection basket. Please make checks payable to St. Malachi Benefit Fund.

MINISTRY OF LECTOR This weekend, Kevin McKenna of St. Malachi will be installed in the Ministry of Lector, officially designated by the Bishop to proclaim God's Word at liturgy. Kevin is in his 2nd year of preparation for the permanent diaconate.
EUCHARIST MINISTERS Parishioners who are interested in becoming Eucharistic Ministers are asked to contact Fr. Tony (216-861-5343) by April 1st. Requirements: at least 18 years old, Confirmed, Catholic in good standing. Training in April.
YOUNG FAMILIES' FISH FRIES

During Lent, families with young children are invited to join S.M.A.R.T. (St. Malachi Adults Raising Toddlers)  for Lenten fish fries, Fridays at 6 PM. Bring your own chair/booster & child drink. March 15: St. Luke, corner of Clifton and Bunts. Info: Carol/Michael Pellegrino 216-351-8553. 

CONFIRMATION

St. Malachi will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation on Tuesday, April 30 at St. Wendelin Church. Adults and teenagers who have not yet been confirmed, please contact Fr. Tony (216) 861-5343 to begin preparation.

SUPPORT WELCOME

A meal without cost is served to the needy on Mondays at 6 PM in the parish hall. Doughnuts, sandwiches, and coffee are served daily at the rectory. Volunteers are needed, especially weekdays. Call Sr. Francis: 216-861-5343.

MALACHI RUN 

The 22nd Annual St. Malachi Run will be held this Saturday, March 16. Start times: 2 Mile: 9AM, 5 Mile: 9:35 AM. Pre-registration $14; race day $17. Registration forms at rectory or call Hermes Race System, 216-623-9933..

ST. PAT’S BENEFIT DRAWING

The Annual Restoration Fund Drawing of St. Patrick Church, Bridge Ave., is held St. Patrick's Day, March 17.  1st Prize: $10,000; Donation: $20. Only 2,500 tickets printed. Tickets available at St. Malachi church & rectory.
