NEW YEAR'S DAY	On Tuesday, New Year’s Day, we celebrate the Solemnity of Mary, the Mother of God and the World Day of Prayer for Peace. Our Holy Day Masses will be Monday at 4:30 PM & Tuesday at 9:30, 11:00 AM & 12:30 PM.

EPIPHANY FESTIVAL	All are invited to attend the Epiphany Celebration next Saturday, January 5 at 6 PM for Evening Prayer and Festival of Carols, followed by fellowship and a potluck dinner in the hall. Please bring a side dish to share.

2002 CALENDARS	St. Malachi Calendars for 2002, courtesy of Berry Funeral Home, & calendars from Catholic Cemeteries and WSEM (West Side Ecumenical Ministries) available at the church doors.

PRISON MINISTRY	Inspirational books and pamphlets are being collected for our prison ministry to distribute to the inmates, who are visited weekly by Drew McAuliffe. Please bring them to the rectory or place in the container near the creche.

ISLAM LECTURES	An informative series on the religion of Islam, consisting of lecture and discussion, will be held Sundays, January 13, 20 and 27 at St. Patrick Parish Hall from 6:30 - 8:00 PM. This is a joint effort of St. Patrick and St. Malachi churches, as we participate in Vibrant Parish Life; it will be led by Mike Petit of the Community of St. Malachi.

FR. JIM O'DONNELL BENEFIT	The 3^rd annual Benefit Dance for Fr. Jim O'Donnell's Little Brothers & Sisters of the Eucharist will be held on Friday, January 18 from 8 PM - Midnight at St. Clarence Hall, 30106 Lorain Ave., North Olmsted. "SOUP FOR THE SOUL" BENEFIT	The second annual Soup for the Soul benefit for St. Malachi Center will be held on Thursday, February 28 from 6:30 to 10:30 PM at Brennan’s Party Center. Tickets are $30. Wednesday: R&R Social Action Planning meeting, 6:45 PM in Center – Quiet prayer before the Eucharist, 7:00-8:00 PM in church 5. Thursday: Eucharistic Holy Hour for peace at 11:00 AM; Mass at Noon. 6. Saturday: Feast of the Epiphany Vigil Mass, 4:30 PM – Epiphany Celebration, 6 PM in church, followed by potluck dinner in hall, all welcome 7. Sunday: Coffee Hour after 9:30 Mass in the Hall 8. Monday: Meal for the poor, 6:00 PM in the parish hall

SUPPORT WELCOME	A meal without cost is served to the needy on Mondays at 6 PM in the parish hall. Doughnuts, sandwiches, and coffee are served daily at the rectory. Volunteers are needed, especially weekdays. Call Sr.Francis 216-861-5343.

BACKDOOR NEEDS	New or gently used men’s socks, winter scarves, flannel shirts, Lge and X-Lge sweatshirts & t-shirts, as well as jeans and corduroy slacks are needed at this time. Thank you once again for your support to this ministry!

ASSISTIVE LISTENING SYSTEM	St. Malachi Church now has an Assistive Listening Device available for our hearing-impaired parishioners. It can be used with head phones or a loop (available in sacristy). HOLIDAY SCHEDULE	Malachi Mart will be closed December 31 through January 2.

ENTERTAIN- MNT BOOKS	St. Malachi Center has Entertainment 2002 books available in West Side & East Side editions in the back of church, in the rectory, at coffee hour and at the Center. Cost is $30. For info, call Cathy Saegel (216) 771-3036.

MALACHI MART	Malachi Mart will be Closed on Dec. 26 and Jan 2. You can check their weekly specials on their web page: www.stmalachimart.org Malachi Mart hours are: Wednesday - Saturday, 10 AM - 5 PM; Sunday 10 AM - 1:30 PM.
