ADVENT BEGINS

The First Sunday of Advent begins the Church year. An Advent & Christmas season calendar is attached to today's bulletin; please keep it for reference. During this liturgical year. Sunday readings will be from the "A" cycle.

HOLY DAY This Saturday, December 8, is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary, a Holy Day and the patronal feast of the U.S. There will be a Vigil Mass on Friday at 5:30 PM & Mass for the Holy Day Saturday at 10 AM.
ST. HERMAN BENEFIT This Sunday St. Malachi is hosting the annual benefit Spaghetti Dinner for the St. Herman House of Hospital ity in the hall from 11 AM to 5 PM. $6 adults, $4 seniors, $2.50 children under 12. Bake sale starts at 10 AM.
RETIRED RELIGIOUS APPEAL  Next weekend is the annual appeal for Retired Religious. This national collection supports many retired Sisters & Brothers who served God's people for many years for little or no pay, are now retired and whose community retirement funds are inadequate to support them. There will be a second collection after all Masses.

CENTER HOLIDAY BOUTIQUE

St. Malachi Center needs new or "like new" gift items for mothers, fathers, teens, children & toddlers for the annual Children's Christmas Boutique on Wednesday, December 12. Volunteers are also needed to assist children in gift selection & wrapping. Please bring gift items to the Center by December 11 Call Cathy 216-771-3036.

ADVENT SERIES Our Advent Series, "Christmas -An Adult Perspective," begins this Sunday & continues on Dec. 9 & 16, 7-8:30 PM, presented by Mary Jane Treichel with prayer, reflection & small group discussion on the Christmas Gospels.
WORD AND SONG A prayer service with Gospel music in church before the Monday Night Meal! All are invited to join in welcoming  our neighborhood friends who we serve, from 5-5:15 PM on Mondays, December 3, 10 & 17.

SUPPORT WELCOME A meal without cost is served to the needy on Mondays at 6 PM in the parish hall. Doughnuts, sandwiches, and  coffee are served daily at the rectory. Volunteers are needed, especially weekdays. Call Sr. Francis 216-861 -5343.

Malachi Mart supports the ministry of St. Malachi Center. The Mart is always looking for volunteers,  to assist in every way.
