RESPECT LIFE

This Sunday is Respect Life Sunday. We reverence all human life as a gift of God, from the first moment of our existence to the final moment of natural death. Jesus said, "I came that you may have life and life to the full."

BLANKET SUNDAY -- CHARITY OF MONTH

This Sunday is Blanket Sunday. We are collecting new or like-new blankets, sheets & pillow cases, towels and washcloths. The Blanket Sunday Appeal is our St. Malachi's "Charity of the Month," so we will collect these items throughout October. We will distribute them to needy families and homeless people. Financial contributions in the Blanket Sunday envelopes will be sent to the St. Vincent de Paul Society.

CHURCH ENVELOPES

St. Malachi Parish collection envelopes begin this Sunday, Oct. 7. Boxes are available at the doors of the Church.  Note: the Community of St. Malachi does NOT use envelopes. Please include name & address as you begin.

Holy Longing DISCUSSION

Discussions of the book The Holy Longing will be held this week. The first discussion is this Sunday, Oct. 7 at 7 PM at the Center. Other dates, times & places can be found in the flyer distributed in last Sunday’s bulletin.

SAMARITAN MINISTRY

St. Malachi Samaritan Ministry will be held on Fridays, October 5, 12, 19, 26, 1-4:30 PM, at St. Malachi Center This 4-session workshop offers education on alcohol & drug addiction. The program is free; register at first session

ENTERTAIN-
MNT BOOKS

St. Malachi Center has Entertainment 2002 books available in both the West Side & East side editions in the back of church, at coffee hour and the Center. Cost is $30. For more information, call Cathy Saegel (216) 771-3036.

MALACHI HOUSE BENEFIT

"Malachi House Earth Angel Sock Hop," 13th Annual Benefit will be held Friday, October 19, 6:30-11 PM at the St. Ignatius High School Murphy Field House & Sullivan Gym, tickets $100-200-300. SUPPORT WELCOME

A meal without cost is served to the needy on Mondays at 6 PM in the parish hall. Doughnuts, sandwiches, and coffee are served daily at the rectory. Volunteers are needed weekdays at our Backdoor Ministry (216-861-5343).

WANTED: HELP FOR MART Malachi Mart supports the ministry of St. Malachi Center. The Mart is always looking for volunteers,  to assist in every way.
