BLANKET SUNDAY -- CHARITY OF MONTH

St. Malachi's "Charity of the Month is the Blanket Sunday Appeal which begins next Sunday. St. Malachi will be collecting new or like-new blankets, sheets & pillow cases, towels and washcloths not only next Sunday, but throughout the month of October. We will distribute them to needy families and homeless people. Any financial contributions in the Blanket Sunday envelopes will be sent to the St. Vincent de Paul Society Blanket Sunday

CATHOLIC COMMUNI- CATIONS

This weekend is the appeal for the Catholic Communications Campaign. The campaign's goal is to create a Catholic presence in the media. Proceeds support radio, print media and video projects such as the Sunday televised Mass. There will be a second collection at all Masses.

CHURCH ENVELOPES St. Malachi Parish collection envelopes are available at the doors of the Church. They begin Oct. 7. Please note:  the Community of St. Malachi does NOT use envelopes. Please include name & address as you begin using them!
EUCHARIST MINISTERS

Parishioners who are interested in becoming Eucharistic Ministers are asked to contact Fr. Tony (216-861-5343) by October 1. Requirements: at least 18 years old, Confirmed, Catholic in good standing. Training in October.

Holy Longing DISCUSSION

The first group discussion of the book The Holy Longing is next Sunday, Oct. 7 at 7 PM at St. Malachi Center, so you are encouraged to keep reading! For other dates, times & places for discussion, see the bulletin attachment.

SAMARITAN MINISTRY

St. Malachi Samaritan Ministry will be held on Fridays, October 5, 12, 19, 26, 1-4:30 PM, at St. Malachi Center This 4-session workshop offers education on alcohol & drug addiction. The program is free; register at first session

ENTERTAIN-
MNT BOOKS

St. Malachi Center will have Entertainment 2002 books available during the first week of October in both the West Side and East side editions. Cost is $30. For more information, call Cathy Saegel (216) 771-3036.

SUPPORT WELCOME

We have a great need for volunteers at our Backdoor Ministry to help during the week! The Backdoor serves from 8:30 AM to 3 PM; there are two shifts: 8:15 AM to Noon; and Noon-3:15 PM. Call Sr. Francis (216-861-5343)..

CHARITY OF THE MONTH Thank you for your August donations of school supplies for our neighborhood children. The joint Social Action  Commission "charity of the month" appeal for September is the shower program at St. Malachi Center. Needed are spray-On deodorants, disposable razors, toothbrushes and toothpaste. A donation box is in the front of church.

Malachi Mart hours are: Wednesday - Saturday, 10 AM - 5 PM; Sunday 10 AM - 1:30 PM.

WANTED: HELP FOR MART Malachi Mart supports the ministry of St. Malachi Center. The Mart is always looking for volunteers,  to assist in every way. 
The Mart is open from 10 AM to 5 PM, Wednesday through Saturday, Sundays from 10 AM to 1:30 PM.  For more information, call Bonnie or Jacqui at (216) 621-1988.
