RESPONSE TO THE ATTACKS

Let us mourn and pray for our dead; let us comfort those who have lost loved ones; let us care for those who are injured; let us aid all who are still searching; let us help those who are beginning to clear the damage and rebuild; most of all, let us pray: for healing, for comfort, for strength, for hope, for the ability to forgive, for lasting peace.

RCIA JOURNEY OF FAITH The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a journey of faith for all seeking to explore the Catholic faith. RCIA meets on Mondays at 7 PM in the rectory at St. Patrick (Bridge). Please come! For further information, call Mary Jane Treichel or Fr. Tony at 861-5343.

ADVENT PLANNING

BOOK GROUPS

Several opportunities are planned for people to discuss The Holy Longing by Ronald Rolheiser during October. If you are interested in joining a small discussion group, call Mary Carol Lucic at (216) 221-5017
CHURCH ENVELOPES St. Malachi Parish collection envelopes are available at the doors of the Church. They begin Oct. 7. Please note:  the Community of St. Malachi does NOT use envelopes. Please include name & address as you begin using them!
EUCHARIST MINISTERS

Parishioners who are interested in becoming Eucharistic Ministers are asked to contact Fr. Tony (216-861-5343) by October 1. Requirements: at least 18 years old, Confirmed, Catholic in good standing. Training in October.

CHILDRENS' CHOIR

The first meeting of the Children's Choir is this Saturday, September 22 at 2 PM. Anyone from age 7+ is welcome! For more information, call Charlene McElwee (216) 861-5343.

CONTRA DANCE

All are welcome to come for an evening of Contra Dancing on Saturday, September 29 in the hall! There is a potluck beginning at 6 PM, with a dance lesson & dancing following. $6. Please come!

HELP MUCH NEEDED!  We have a great need for volunteers at our Backdoor Ministry to help during the week! The Backdoor serves from 8:30 AM to 3 PM; there are two shifts: 8:15 AM to Noon; and Noon-3:15 PM. Call Sr. Francis (216-861-5343).

CHARITY OF THE MONTH Thank you for your August donations of school supplies for our neighborhood children. The joint Social Action  Commission "charity of the month" appeal for September is the shower program at St. Malachi Center. Needed are spray-On deodorants, disposable razors, toothbrushes and toothpaste. A donation box is in the front of church.
REVERSE RAFFLE Tickets for our annual reverse raffle on Friday, September 28, at Brennan's Party Center are available at the back of church or rectory. An $85 ticket includes a buffet dinner for two and a chance on the main $3,000 raffle.

URBAN SCHOOL BENEFIT

Urban Community School's annual benefit, "Seasons of change" is this coming Saturday, September 15, from 6 to 11 PM at the Nautica Special Events Pavilion. Tickets are $100. Tickets are still available. For information call the Urban Community School Office (216) 771-8014.
MALACHI MART

Malachi Mart hours are: Wednesday - Saturday, 10 AM - 5 PM; Sunday 10 AM - 1:30 PM.

WANTED: HELP FOR MART Malachi Mart supports the ministry of St. Malachi Center. The Mart is always looking for volunteers,  to assist in every way. 
The Mart is open from 10 AM to 5 PM, Wednesday through Saturday, Sundays from 10 AM to 1:30 PM.  For more information, call Bonnie or Jacqui at (216) 621-1988.
