RCIA JOURNEY OF FAITH
|
The Rite of Christian Initiation of
Adults (RCIA) is a journey of faith for all seeking to explore the Catholic
faith. We meet Monday evenings at St. Patrick, starting Sept. 10. Now is the
time to invite those who have found a home at St. Malachi, but are not in full
communion with us.

CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY APPEAL
|
This weekend is the annual appeal for the Catholic
University in Washington. Over a century ago, the U.S. bishops saw the need
for a graduate center of Catholic theology, philosophy, and research for the
Church; the need is just as great
today. There will be a second collection at all the Masses.

JOINT PICNIC
|
Enjoy fellowship and a fun-filled day next Sunday, August
26, at the St. Malachi joint picnic from Noon to 5 PM at the Lakewood Park
Women’s Pavilion. Hamburgers & hot dogs will be provided; bring a side
dish to share, your own beverage & place settings.

CHARITY OF THE MONTH
|
The Social Action Commission has begun a "charity of the month" appeal to support the St. Malachi Ministries.
For August, school
supplies for neighborhood children can be left in the box in the
front of church.

CHRISTIAN
FORMATION
|
Children from St. Malachi Parish receive religious
education in the Community's Christian Formation which begins Sept.
10.Registration is open for fall classes. Forms at the rectory; Mary Carol

CELEBRATE
SERVICE
|
On Tuesday, September 11, at 7 PM, there will be a
"Celebration of Service" in church followed by an ice cream social
for all who serve at St. Malachi: liturgical ministries (readers,
Eucharistic Ministers, cantors, servers, ushers Backdoor Ministry, office
helpers, Friendly Visitor, etc. For information, call the office (216)

BENEFIT
|
Urban Community School's annual
benefit, "Seasons of Change" is Saturday, September 15,
from 6 to 11 PM at the Nautica Special Events Pavilion. Save the date &
plan to attend. Tickets are $100. For tickets or information,

REVERSE RAFFLE
|
Tickets for our annual reverse raffle Friday, September 28,
at Brennan’s Party Center are available at the back of church or rectory. An
$85 ticket includes a buffet dinner for two and a chance on the main $3,000
raffle.

PRAYER GROUP
|
The contemplative prayer group is forming. It will meet on
alternate Wednesday evenings beginning at 7 PM, September 10, at St. Patrick

A meal without cost is served to the needy on Mondays at 6 PM
in the parish hall. Doughnuts, sandwiches, and coffee are served daily at the

shower program at St. Malachi Center is in great need of aerosol spray-on
deodorants. They may be dropped off at the Center, the rectory or in the
