BOOK SALE

This weekend, The Holy Longing - A Search for Christian Spirituality by Ronald Rolheiser will be available for purchase for $17.80 after all the Masses. Small group discussion opportunities will be held this Fall. For further information or questions, call Mary Carol Lucic 216-221-5017.
St MALACHI PICNIC
PLANNING

Volunteers are needed to help plan activities and prepare for the "All St. Malachi" picnic to be held Sunday, August 26 from Noon to 6 PM at Lakewood Park Women's Pavilion. The meetings will be this Sunday at 10:30 AM and also at Noon in the hall. For info, call Cathy Saegel 216-771-3036 or Rosemary Gray 216-521-0191.

RCIA JOURNEY OF FAITH The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a journey of faith open to all who are interested in exploring .the Catholic faith. We meet on Monday evenings at St. Patrick, starting September 10. Summer is a good time to  invite those who have begun to find a home at St. Malachi, but are not in full communion with us. For information, call Mary Jane Treichel or Fr. Tony at 861-5343.
CHARITY OF THE MONTH The Social Action Commission has begun a "charity of the month" appeal to support the St. Malachi Ministries. For August, school supplies for neighborhood children can be left in the box in the front of church.

BLOSSOM CONCERT

St. Malachi Rejoice and Renew is sponsoring an evening at Blossom Music Center with the Cleveland Orchestra on Saturday, August 18. The cost is $21and limited bus space is available. Call Rosemary Gray, 216-521-0191.
CIRCLE OF PRAYER All are welcome to join the monthly Circle of Prayer which will meet this Monday at 7 PM in church to pray for Parish, Community and individual needs. Prayer request slips can be found at Mary's shrine.
TALENT SHOW The youth of St. Malachi Center will proudly present the Summer Camp Talent Show on Thursday. August 16 from 5:30-7 PM in the hall. Refreshments will be provided. Save the date & plan to attend!
UCS SPORTS Urban Community School will begin cross-country season at 3 PM on Tuesday, August 7 at St. Wendelin Gym.   All students and parishioners from grades one through eight are invited. Contact is Eileen Murphy 216-281-5465.

SUPPORT WELCOME

A meal without cost is served to the needy on Mondays at 6 PM in the parish hall. Doughnuts, sandwiches, and coffee are served daily at the rectory. Volunteers are needed, especially weekdays (216-861-5343).

COMPUTER RECYCLING The Cuyahoga County "Computer Round-Up" is Saturday, August 18 from 9 AM-2 PM at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds, Bagley Rd., Berea. All old computers & software will be upgraded & given to schools or recycled.

FAITH & SHARING RETREAT

The Faith and Sharing Retreat is Aug. 15-19 at St. Joseph Christian Life Center. Based on the spirituality of Jean Vanier, it is a shared journey of faith, prayer & celebration for all people. Young adults are especially welcome.
Fr. Al Krupp is the retreat presenter. Cost: $185 by Aug. 1; $195 thereafter.

S.M.A.R.T. PICNIC St. Malachi Adults Raising Toddlers (S.M.A.R.T.) will meet August 10 on the far side of the Kiwanis Pavilion at Lakewood Park for a picnic supper, playground fun and a family movie at sundown. Bring your own meat to grill, drinks, picnic supplies, and a dish to share. This week’s movie will be Willie Wonka.

WANTED: HELP FOR MART Malachi Mart supports the ministry of St. Malachi Center. The Mart is always looking for volunteers,  to assist in every way.
