Bishop Anthony Pilla and Children and Family Services are asking for your help in finding permanent parents for over 2,000 beautiful children in Cuyahoga County. These children, abused and neglected, need the love and sense of belonging that only a caring family can give. EASTERN EUROPE

This weekend is the annual appeal for the Church in Eastern Europe This collection funds nearly 1,200 projects in 22 Central & Eastern European countries. There will be a second collection at all Masses.

St MALACHI PICNIC All are invited to come to the "All St. Malachi" picnic on Sunday, August 26, at Lakewood Park (Women’s Pavilion) from Noon on. Save the date & plan to attend! To help, call Cathy Saegel at (216) 771-3036.

MALACHI CENTER GOLF OUTING

The 9th Annual St. Malachi Center Invitational Golf Outing is July 29 at Bob O'Link Golf Course, Avon beginning at 9 AM; the 9-hole tournament begins at 11:30 AM. Fees: $80 per golfer for 18 holes, $45 for 9 holes (includes a cart, lunch & steak dinner). For non-golfers, dinner is available for $25. Bring a foursome! FAITH & SHARING RETREAT

There is a Faith and Sharing Retreat August 15-19 at St. Jospeh Christian Life Center. The retreat is based on the vision & spirituality of Jean Vanier & is a shared journey of faith, prayer & celebration for all people, "rich or poor, weak or strong, big or small." Young adults are especially welcome. Fr. Al Krup will be the retreat presenter. Cost: $185 by Aug. 1; $195 thereafter. Call Fr. Jim O'Donnell (566-0531).

"BOOKIES" 
INVITATION

The St. Malachi "Bookies" book club invites everyone in the Community & Parish to read the same book and, through small group discussions this Fall, enjoy a collective literary & spiritual growth experience. The book is The Holy Longing - A Search for Christian Spirituality by Ronald Rolheiser. It will be available for sale for $ at the back of church & coffee hour the end of July. S.M.A.R.T. PICNICS St. Malachi Adults Raising Toddlers (S.M.A.R.T.) will meet July 27 and August 10 on the far side of the Kiwanis Pavilion at Lakewood Park for a picnic supper, playground fun and a family movie at sundown. Bring your own meat to grill, drinks, picnic supplies, and a dish to share. This week’s movie will be Willie Wonka.

BLOSSOM CONCERT

St. Malachi Rejoice and Renew is sponsoring an evening at Blossom Music Center with the Cleveland Orchestra on Saturday, August 18. The cost is $21and limited bus space is available. Call Rosemary Gray, 216-521-0191.
