NEWLY ORDAINED Congratulations & God's blessings to Frs. Edward Smith, Joseph Koopman & Mark Ott who were ordained priests on Saturday! Fr. Ed served at St. Malachi as a seminarian and will be here to celebrate with us at the 9:30 AM Mass on Sunday, June 10. God's blessings also to newly ordained Deacon James Armstrong of St. Wendelin.
FEAST OF ASCENSION The U.S. Catholic Bishops have moved the celebration of the Ascension of the Lord to the Seventh Sunday of Easter to allow more Catholics to celebrate this important feast. We will celebrate the Ascension next weekend.
St MALACHI CENTER RAFFLE  We are entering the final week for St. Malachi Center's annual benefit raffle & tickets are still available! The drawing on Memorial Day, May 28, will provide critical support for Center programs & activities. Only 2,500 tickets are printed. The Main prize is $10,000; tickets are $20 & are available after Mass at church or rectory.
CATHOLIC SENIORS DAY The Catholic Council on Older Adults & the Marriage & Family Office sponsors the 20th Annual Catholic Senior Celebration on Wednesday, May 30 at St. Therese Church, 5276 East l05th Street in Garfield Heights. Music begins at 1:45 PM, Mass with Bishop Anthony M. Pilla at 2 PM, followed by refreshments.

APPEAL
The parish appeal phase of the Catholic Charities campaign continues this weekend. Catholic Charities provides health and human services to 600,000 people in Northeast Ohio. Your support is needed! If you have not yet contributed, donation/pledge envelopes can be returned in the collection baskets or to the Rectory
FOOD FOR THE POOR  Fr. Lou Papes will speak on his ministry, Food for the Poor in the Caribbean and Latin America, next weekend during all Masses.

4. Wednesday: Quiet prayer before the Eucharist, 5:30-6:30 PM in church, all welcome
5. Thursday: Eucharistic holy hour for peace at 11:00 AM; Mass at Noon.
6. Saturday: Children's Choir rehearsal, 2 PM in the church, all children 7+ welcome

Backdoor Ministry Brunch

Coffee Hour after 9:30 Mass in the hall

Malachi Mart closed in celebration of Memorial Day
SUPPORT WELCOME

A meal without cost is served to the needy on Mondays at 6 PM in the parish hall. Coffee, sandwiches and doughnuts are served daily at the rectory. Volunteers are needed, especially weekdays (216-861-5343).

BACK DOOR CLOTHING NEEDS

New or gently-used men's socks (any color) are needed for the Backdoor Ministry. Men's jeans & khakis, Large & X-Large sweatshirts & t-shirts are also needed. Please note that most of our clothing requests are from men; we have very little request for women's clothing. Thank you for your care and continued support of this ministry.

New phone books arrive soon; old ones can be recycled through the County's Recycling Program at the Metroparks through June 30, including the Zoo (main entrance) & Rocky River (nature center).

WANTED: HELP FOR MART Malachi Mart supports the ministry of St. Malachi Center. The Mart is always looking for volunteers,  to assist in every way.
