COMMUNAL PENANCE Our Advent Communal Penance Service is this Sunday, December 10, at 2 PM at St. Wendelin Church. Several priests will serve as confessors. You are invited to come & be reconciled in this Jubilee Year.
HOLIDAY FRUIT BASKETS This Sunday, December 10, between Noon - 2PM, St. Malachi will again deliver Christmas fruit baskets to the residents of Lakeview and Riverview Hi-Rises. Individuals & families will be needed to distribute baskets and share a bit of the St. Malachi spirit! Meet at the Center.
RETIRED RELIGIOUS APPEAL This weekend is the annual appeal for Retired Religious. This national collection supports many retired Sisters & Brothers who served God's people for many years for little or no pay, are now retired and whose community retirement funds are inadequate to support them. There will be a second collection.
CENTER HOLIDAY GIFTS BOUTIQUE St. Malachi Center needs new or "like new" gift items for mothers & fathers, teens, children & toddlers for the annual children's Christmas Boutique on Wednesday, December 20 from 4-6:30 PM. Volunteers are also needed to assist children in gift selection & wrapping. Please bring gift items to the Center by December 17. For information, call Cathy Saegel at (216) 771-3036.
DECORATE CHURCH All are invited to join in decorating the Church for the Christmas season next Sunday, following the 12:30 Mass. Many hands are needed and all are welcome! Refreshments will be served.
CHRISTMAS GIVING TREE Our "Giving Tree" at Mary's shrine has gift requests for the children of St Malachi Center & furnishings
for the West Side Catholic Center shelter. When you return the gifts, tape the ornament onto the gift.
OPEN WIDE THE DOORS TO CHRIST  Once again, you are encouraged to pick up a "Jubilee Door" as we continue to Open Wide the Doors  to Christ during this Advent/Christmas Season. Each week's "Door" will be a prayer used during Mass that week, an expression of our Faith to use each day as we travel on our pilgrim journey.
TEDDY BEAR RAFFLE Malachi Mart is raffling 13 large bears. Tickets are 25¢; 5 for $1 available at Center or Mart. Winning numbers will be posted at the Mart; winners must show ticket to claim the prize. Drawing is Dec. 16
POINSETTAS Both red and white poinsettia plants are needed and would be appreciated for the decoration of the church this year. Please bring them to church or the rectory for church decorating. Thank you!

3. Wednesday: Quiet prayer before the Eucharist, 7:00-8:00 PM in church, all welcome
4. Thursday: Eucharistic Holy Hour for peace at 11:00 AM; Mass at Noon.

5. Saturday: Children's Choir rehearsal, 2 PM in the church, all children 8+ welcome

SUPPORT WELCOME A meal without cost is served to the needy on Mondays at 6 PM in the parish hall. Coffee, sandwiches and doughnuts are served daily at the rectory. Volunteers are welcome (216-861-5343).

JUBILEE ENDS

There will be a special Mass on January 7, 2001 at Public Hall at 3 PM to mark the end of the Jubilee Year & Bishop Pilla's 20th Anniversary as Bishop of Cleveland. For tickets, call 696-6525 ext. 2060.

MALACHI MART

Malachi Mart has Y2K Safe Trek dehydrated food supplies, Entertainment 2001 books, supplies & gifts for holiday giving. You can check their weekly specials on their web page: www.stmalachimart.org  
Malachi Mart hours are: Wednesday - Saturday, 10 AM - 5 PM; Sunday 10 AM - 1:30 PM.

BACKDOOR NEEDS We have a continuing need for men's socks. The Backdoor Ministry distributes them as quickly as we get them in. White preferred. We also also need mens' work pants or jeans.

WANTED: HELP FOR MART Malachi Mart supports the ministry of St. Malachi Center. The Mart is always looking for volunteers,  to assist in every way.
