HOLY DAY  This Tuesday, August 15, is the feast of the Assumption of Mary, a Holy Day of Obligation. Masses are Monday at 7:00 PM (note special time due to Monday Night meal), Tuesday at 7 AM & 12:00 Noon.
CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY APPEAL This weekend is the annual appeal for the Catholic University in Washington. Over a century ago, the U.S. bishops saw the need for a graduate center of Catholic theology, philosophy, and research for the
Church; the need is just as great today. There will be a second collection at all the Masses.
DETROIT- SHOREWAY CHURCHES JUBILEE  This Sunday, August 13, all are invited to an open house of the Catholic Churches & instititutions of the Detroit-Shoreway area as part of our Central West District Jubilee 2000 celebration. St. Colman, St. Stephen, Our Lady of Mt Camel, La Sagrada Familia, St. Augustine Manor and Augustine Towers
will all be open from 2-5 PM. All are invited and encouraged to attend.
ANNUAL MISSION APPEAL  Next weekend is the annual Mission appeal. We welcome Fr. Thomas Meulemans, Procurator of the Norbertine Missionaries of Peru., South America, who will share the needs of the Church in that area and information about the people they serve. There will be a second collection at all Masses.
GOD BLESS  God's blessing on Nicholas Patrick Nyikes, son of David & Annmarie Nyikes, who was baptized last week! May he continue to grow in wisdom, grace and age.
CHRISTIAN FORMATION Children from St. Malachi Parish receive religious education in the Community's Christian Formation. Registration is open for fall classes. Forms are at the rectory or call Carol Lucic (216) 221-5017.
RCIA JOURNEY OF FAITH The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a journey of faith open to all who are interested in exploring the Catholic faith. We meet on Monday evenings at St. Patrick, starting in September.
Summer is a good time to invite those who have begun to find a home at St. Malachi, but are not in full communion with us. For information, call Mary Jane Treichel or Fr. Tony at (216) 861-5343.
25th ANNIV CSM PICNIC The Community of St. Malachi invites all parishioners to a picnic next Sunday, August 20, at Lakewood Park from Noon 'til ???. Bring side dish or dessert to share, place settings and beverages; hamburgers & hot dogs provided. Call the rectory at (216) 861-5343 with number attending.

-- Vigil Mass, 7 PM (note: no Noon Mass on Monday)
3. Tuesday: FEAST OF THE ASSUMPTION OF MARY, Masses 7 AM & 7 PM
4. Wednesday: Quiet prayer before the Eucharist, 5:30-6:30 PM in church, all welcome
5. Thursday: Eucharistic Holy Hour for peace at 11:00 AM; Mass at Noon.
6. Sunday: Coffee Hour after 9:30 Mass in the Hall

SUPPORT WELCOME A meal without cost is served to the needy on Mondays at 6 PM in the parish hall. Coffee, sandwiches and doughnuts are served daily at the rectory. Volunteers are welcome (216-861-5343).
BACKDOOR NEEDS Our Backdoor Ministry continues to need men's pants, sizes 32-38, clean, gently used (no holes) men's socks (any color) and L and XL sized men's t-shirts. Thank you!
SLICER NEEDED A professional quality bread-slicer is needed for the Backdoor Ministry due to the increased amount of unsliced bread donated for sandwiches.. Please call the rectory if you can help. Thank you!

WANTED: HELP FOR MART Malachi Mart supports the ministry of St. Malachi Center. The Mart is always looking for volunteers,  to assist in every way.
