MOTHERS DAY  As our country celebrates Mothers' Day this Sunday, let us pray for our Mothers, living & deceased, Godmothers, Grandmothers, Foster Mothers, Stepmothers! May God's blessing be upon them!
HONOR VETERANS  This weekend, Catholic War Veterans, St. Benedict's Post 381, will sell poppies, the symbol traditionally used to commemorate deceased veterans, at the Church doors after each Mass today.
FAITH DEVELOP- MENT APPEAL  This weekend will be the collection for Catechetical Services (formerly the Newman Collection). The
Office of Catechetical Services is composed of the Newman Campus Ministry Office and Religious
Education Office. Its mission is to support life-long faith development, both for our children and our
college/university students. There will be a second collection at all Masses.
OPEN WIDE THE DOORS TO CHRIST During Easter Season, we invite you to live Jubilee 2000's call to Open Wide the Doors to Christ, as we continue to focus on a specific Jubilee theme each week. Please pick up a "Jubilee Door", located near the holy water fonts, which has a specific suggestion this week to be a "Good Shepherd".
CATHOLIC CHARITIES APPEAL  The parish appeal phase of the Catholic Charities campaign continues this weekend. Catholic Charities provides health & human services to 600,000 people in Northeast Ohio. Your support is needed! If you have not yet contributed, donation/pledge envelopes can be returned in the collection or to the Rectory.
MAY CROWNING During May, Catholics traditionally honor Mary, the mother of God. On Monday, May 22, St. Malachi will celebrate May Crowning at 7 PM. All are welcome to participate.
MALACHI CENTER BENEFIT RAFFLE  Tickets are still available at the rectory or church for St. Malachi Center's annual benefit raffle on May 29, Memorial Day. The raffle supports Center programs & activities. Main prize is $10,000; tickets are $20, with 2,500 tickets printed. Your help is needed! MAL. HOUSE BENEFIT BREAKFAST The 1st Annual Lou Schroeder Memorial Breakfast to benefit Malachi House is Sunday, June 4 from 9 AM to 1:30 PM in the hall. Menu: "all you can eat Texas French toast", with sausage, fruit, juice, coffee & tea. Cost: $5 adults, $3 children 4-12. Call Mary Schroeder Giersz (216) 441-1455 or the office.

5. Thursday: Eucharistic Holy Hour for peace at 11:00 AM; Mass at Noon.

SUPPORT WELCOME  A meal without cost is served to the needy on Mondays at 6 PM in the parish hall. Coffee, sandwiches and doughnuts are served daily at the rectory. Volunteers are welcome (861-5343).
FR. JIM O'DONNELL HOUSE  Fr. Jim O'Donnell, is inviting the people of St. Malachi to attend the dedication of "Visitation House"  2182 E. 35 St. (between Community College & Central) on Sunday, May 28. There is an Open House from 3-5 PM, with the house blessing service at 3:30 PM. For information call (216) 531-0531.
PROJECT A.F.F.O.R.D. The Hritz-O'Donnell House, sponsored by St. Malachi Parish & Community, is under construction on Woodbine Ave. & nearing completion. The target date for the dedication will be in June.
PHONE BK RECYCLING  New phone books arrive soon; old ones can be recycled through the County's Recycling Program at the MetroParks through June 30, including the Zoo (main entrance) & Rocky River (nature center).
