What is the Samaritan Ministry?
Substance abuse touches every community. Statistics suggest that 66% of the population uses alcohol and/or other drugs. Of those, 20% experience major life consequences resulting from use (drunk driving, health problems) and 10% develop the disease of alcoholism/addiction. Every alcoholic/ addict affects 4 to 5 other lives.
Why is it needed?
The purpose of this training is to provide first responders with the tools to help substance abuse individuals and their families in the community. The program consists of four educational sessions, which will increase awareness of the problem of substance abuse, deepen understanding of the disease, and strengthen the church's ability to minister to individuals who are experiencing problems as a result of alcohol and other drugs.
Who Should Attend?
