Backdoor Ministry
|
St Malachi Backdoor Ministry is open every
day of the year to serve homeless men and women, transients, and anyone
who comes looking for a bite to eat. At the rectory backdoor, guests
are served coffee, donuts and a sandwich. Personal care items and
clothing is distributed as is needed and available. The Backdoor is
open Monday through Saturday from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM and on Sundays and
holidays from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM Generally, there are two shifts of
two or more volunteers who serve and prepare sandwiches each day.
The Backdoor Ministry is supported by the St. Malachi Food Fund.
Volunteers are coordinated through the parish office. |

Monday Night Meal
|
The Monday Night Meal is primarily a
ministry of the Community of St.
Malachi, but welcomes volunteers from the parish and the larger
community. A meal is served every Monday evening, including
holidays, from approximately 5:45-6:30 PM. Volunteers are asked to
come between 5:00-5:30 PM and remain until the cleanup is finished, at
approximately 7:15 PM. |

Friendly Visitors
|
The ministry of the
Friendly Visitors is to serve sick, shut-ins, and the elderly persons
at St. Malachi Parish. This group of men and
women commit themselves to visit a person or couple once or twice each
month, evidencing the continuing concern and care of the Church for
them. Friendly Visitors have and
opportunity to receive training/in-service from the Diocese on a periodic
basis. The Friendly Visitors ministry is
